2.29.405.2

I've been offered the OTA update tonight so ran it with my goldcard in and it's bust my wifi.

Have manually flashed the one Eddy has provided but it hasn't fixed the wifi like it did with my Mrs' phone the other night.

Have i any other option than to run the full RUU to get it back working?
I'm only on an unbranded handset, not rooted by the way.
Would appreciate any help to solve this, thanks. :o

Got the same problem here :( any help appreciated!

Updated rooted phone with Goldcard and had no issues.

Battery life DOES seem to be an improvement, even after a full day from 5am-8pm it only just got into 'amber' colour.

GPS didnt seem very accurate though. could this be because it has to 'bed in' like when the phone was new?

Safest way is if rooted just don't install the OTA - go for a custom ROM updated to 2.29 or revert to stock with the RUU

What i have noticed since the update is that BBC iplayer wouldn't play in full screen mode. I had plug ins enabled on demand as flash content crashed the stock browser. I have now changed this to always on and iplayer now plays in full screen and flash content no longer crashes the browser :) Guess this problem has been fixed.

I'm having same problem with iplayer not working in fullscreen following update. Already had the Flash update from market. Tried uninstalling, then installing, then uninstalling again. Plug-ins always enabled and always have been. Tried running in mobile and standard browser views. Only way can get it 'working' is to carefully pinch expand and position the player window. Really annoying. Could be a rogue app but would rather not factory reset and loose all my hard grafted settings.

On CPW unbranded Desire, unrooted, mainly standard apps - no previous problems.

you an me both..

I just updated manually to the 405.5 update which is like 2 days old...WHICH I assumed is a fix for the previous buggy issues with 405.2 with WI/FI and Flash problems...

lo and behold...the exact same issue with the fullscreen effect on BBCiplayer...

Welcome to the forums!

Shy of a hard reset - have you tried clearing your browser caches?

And if you ever are forced into a hard reset, the backup/reset/restore advice can come in handy here - http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-support-troubleshooting/141369-how-fix-froyo.html

It's Evo-specific - but Android is Android and HTC is HTC - maybe those tips can help make a painful process less terrible.

Oh - btw - I just remembered. In the HTC standard browser I have, there's an option to Enable plug-ins. If yours has that, try changing its settings - sorry, can't recall the option, but I believe if that's off then instead of Flash within the browser, you get a glyph where the video goes, you click it, and you get a nice, landscape video player of just that.

Hope this isn't out of left field any of you - the Evo is just a Desire-derivative - and c'mon - iplayer? Who doesn't like Absolutely Fabulous, Red Dwarf or Doctor Who - I'm a just a BBC fan! :)

Hope this helps!

I have a fix for your issue, its not perfect but it does work. When you play videos on iplayer do not put your phone in landscape leave it portrait, play the video *THEN* when the video plays the put it fullscreen.

I had the exact same issue an just by accident found this trick worked..I hope it works for you too :)

Spot on chief. Now, that fix is weird!

Just got the 2.29.405.5 update and like you thought I'd be home and dry. Turns out when I try watching iPlayer in stock browser on non-mobile layout, I just keep getting booted out back to home screen. Will try reinstalling flash 10.1 (had to remove before 405.5 update would hold) and see if that fixes.

I've found its not just the iplayer but most flash videos that seem to have the pause issue, bit work after the portrait/landscape fix.

And that's on the 405.5 update too..

I disabled Scheduled check months ago, so I'm late to two parties. I manually checked this morning and installed 2.29.405.2, then after reading about it I checked again and have just installed 2.29.405.5. I haven't noticed anything unusual yet, but will report when/if I do.
