2.29.405.2

True, personally I've not had any issues but I used the RUU and not the OTA so it was a fresh install

Agree that it's good they've realised and pulled the update, though

installing the Flash 10.1 update seems to fix the Flash issue at the cost of 10mb data space
I have not installed the Flash 10.1 update as I did not want to take up 10mb of the internal memory.
Are you saying that if I run this update it will include the flash update and I will have 10mb less space to play with?

So what did 2.29.405.2 improved from the last update? I've updated my phone 2 days ago, everything is still working fine, no problems, but i haven't seen any new improvements..?

For those still having flash issues try installing flash from the market and then uninstall it. Not sure IF it overwrites the built in flash but it appears to fix whatever the problems were.......Hence why when you uninstall it doesnt remove the flash playing ability.....

Now try and run a flash based site/program that wouldnt work before and see if it makes any difference. I did this and I have NO issues with flash at all now.......

On the browser do you have mobile mode enabled or disabled as I have it disabled and your fix does not work for me :(

I've been offered the OTA update tonight so ran it with my goldcard in and it's bust my wifi.

Have manually flashed the one Eddy has provided but it hasn't fixed the wifi like it did with my Mrs' phone the other night.

Have i any other option than to run the full RUU to get it back working?
I'm only on an unbranded handset, not rooted by the way.
Would appreciate any help to solve this, thanks. :o

for some reason after recently updating, my weather on the clock widget doesn't seem to be working properly anymore. is anyone else experiencing this? i have also made a thread at the support & troublehsooting forum. http://androidforums.com/desire-support-troubleshooting/237999-problem-weather-clock-widget.html . any ideas how to fix this?

I didn't update and my weather and clock widget are having issues too. Must be an issue with the server the weather info is downloaded from.

but for some reason this only happens with the "current weather" where it knows my location and gets weather that way. theres no problem for weather for the locations i define manually. let's hope that it comes back by itself soon lol. it's just such a coincidence that this is happening right after i update.

Just went to my weather home page (with current location and stored locations) and the whole app is acting strangely. HTC Sense even crashes and weather didn't load; then loaded with 0 degrees. And I have not updated. I'm sure it is out our control and will work shortly.

It's a system wide problem with the GPS portion of the app. If you set manually it works fine, it doesn't matter whst firmware or even what htc phone your running either. I'm sure the server side will be fixed soon :)

Evo owners in the US have the weather widget problem, too. It comes and goes.

Sometimes, you can turn off your location access in settings, turn it back on, locate yourself in maps - and it works.

Sometimes, not so much.

Can't say about you guys - but I've had trouble with the underlying weather server (accuweather.com over here) when it's been acting up.

Wish I could've helped more.

well for me it's showing the correct location, just wrong temperature and no weather picture as shown in the pictures below.

edit: problem seems to have fixed itself for now. it is showing the temperature and picture correctly now

it was working for most of today, but seems to have a little hang up again...the GPS tracking side of it is slightly off....shows me as south norfolk rather than norwich...which is annoying, but if I select norwich it works fine..

Im not sure but I think they still having GPS server side issues..

I'm having a little trouble installing the update. It reboots and starts installing then stops with a little green android standing below a triangle with a yellowish exclamation mark in it.
I then have to reboot again and it's still on the old software (2.10.405.2)
Any ideas?

I notice in your info bit under your name it says your "Rooted" are you installing the new update via a seperate flashed rom or are you doing the OTA update straight from HTC?

Straight from HTC. My Desire was debranded by the tech guys in an Orange shop using unrevoked. They put a standard ROM with HTC Sense on for me. Nothing complex as i understand it.

so is this update a radio update then? As I'm on a very old radio version but too nervous to upgrade it by flashing....thanks.

well if its debranded in the shop similar to how my 3 phone is debranded then I believe the OTA update SHOULD work..

I do know that rooted phones have major issues with system updates when they are pushed OTA with lockup and restarts etc..

I'd wait till one of the root experts comes in later they can help more.

I've got a de-branded Desire and was offered the OTA update yesterday. After installing the update, my WIFI no longer worked. Installing the gold card and completing a manual update by down loading the file, putting it on the gold card root directory and entering recovery mode, I was able to update and have working WIFI again.

I did notice that the weather widget was misbehaving and not showing any pictures for the current location, but was for other locations, and despite several reboots nothing changed. Put on charge overnight, woke up this morning and the weather widget now proudly displayed the correct weather and images etc for my current location.

The one thing I have noticed is that despite using the phone all day on WIFI, making several calls and playing games, listening to music and using the GPS for over an hour, I still have over 50% of battery life left! This may lead to me charging the phone every other day as opposed to every day before the update. Apart from that, I haven't noticed anything else yet.
