2.29.405.2

Welcome to the forums!

I've been to Kuching and the neighborhood - miss the chocolate drinks!

I'm curious if the rev number is also tied to the carrier - or only to the actual HTC rom in general.

Any ideas?

I don't think they are, I think they're random if anything...looking at the last update the Vodafone UK and WWE releases were the same bar the vendor code

2.10.405.2
2.10.161.2

So in conclusion i don't think iplayer can be watched over 3g. Which is a bit annoying as i have a 3GB a month data usage which i rarely get close to exceeding, if that's beebs reason for not allowing over 3g.

I dont know how I can watch it and others cant, but as said before, I have watched full, hour long documentaries and other 30 minute programs from the iplayer main website, full version, not mobile version while connected via HSDPA (H, not 3G), I watched over a minute of the panorama episode when testing the other day for this thread, and stopped it myself, it did not cut out or stop working. I use Dolphin HD.

It does work when not using WiFi.

I'll give it another bash when i get home and the H signal (i meant that, rather than 3G) is more reliable. Maybe its because of Dolphin HD if that doesn't work, since i use stock browser.

I've worked it out!!!

You're using Dolphin HD correct? Change your user agent back to 'Android' instead of 'Desktop' and then tell me you can still watch it ;)

I changed mine from Android to Desktop and it works fine on the full iPlayer site

I upgraded yesterday, and it has crashed 3 times. It gets stuck and I have to take out the battery to get it started again. I talked to HTC here in Norway, and they said that if I took a factory recet it might have a tiny posibility to go back to the point before upgrade... sounded a little strange to me. She told me to send it inn to restore it, if that didn't work. She said that this upgrade was not ment for the decire.... Any ideas?

I'm not sure why anyone installs these things straight away! Surely it's always worth waiting, to see what problems emerge? It's hardly as if whatever improvements that the upgrade brings are startlingly good (or even noticeable apparently!).

Done the update checked the software version n don't seem to have the same version checked to see if I need more software and got the message no updates available. Any ideas ?

Is anybody else having trouble getting this update? I keep checking on my phone and its says its up to date yet my software version is 2.10.405.2.

My desire was a virgin phone which i debranded using the 2.10.405.2 RUU file (using a goldcard). The gold card is currently not inserted in my phone but i beleive this is ok and only needs to be in the phone when i do the actual update.

If anybody knows of the location of the update.zip file for this could they please post it as i will do the update manually.

Thanks

You NEED the gold card for ALL updates, flash it now and it'll bugger it up!!

ZIP file is on XDA but here's the link:

http://fotadl.htc.com/OTA_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.2-2.10.405.2_R_P_release8gn61bgo3rswcw24.zip

Thanks for the info - was aware that i needed the goldcard, which is why i keep it in a safe place at home. Just find it strange that my phone dosent see the update even if i run the check with the gold card in.

Will try the manual update and let you all know how i get on.

Thanks

Better to just leave the gold card in the phone at all times, or make your day to day card a gold card. Saves faffing about

If no one installs it, then how will we find out about any problems?
:D

Thanks for restating that. I converted my everyday card in both mine and my wifes phones from day one so we don't have to worry about the goldcard issue. A goldcard works just like any other memory card once it's converted. Even a format doesn't change that sector bit, so it's always a goldcard. Just convert it, leave it, and use it.
:)

You are on Orange so this update doesn't apply to you

This is for x.xx.405.x (unbranded) handsets only

Oh.. and in case anyone is wondering... this update has no positive impact on the rebooting/shutdown issue on the Desire. 5 minutes in, mine shutdown while streaming music.

Hi,
I bought Desire on contract and I want to upgrade software to the newest version, 2.29.405.
I just wanna know if I need to backup my settings or this update will not change/delete my apps and stuff?

Thanks
