Root 2.3.3 Gingerbread Issues Thread

I'm on the ota/leak and I've got some major issues. Very surprised that I didn't didn't see any in this thread.

1) Camera doesn't remember resolution setting and keeps reverting back to
WS format.

2) when sideloading apps sometimes the install button won't work. The cancel button works though.
If I reboot the install button works again.

3) wifi stops working occasionally. It still shows connected, but I can't do anything. Toggling wifi pig and back on restored the connection.

No one else here with these? I'd consider all to be major bugs.

I check #1 --- same thing for me..haven't taken many pictures yet...so didn't notice....grrr...

#2 -- no problem here.

#3 -- happens all the time -- frustrating, but the toggle fixes, so I guess I'll deal.

I can't make any outgoing calls. I press the dialer button and go to contacts, click the contact and the screen goes away. I was able to make a call using voice commands, thats it. This definitely wont work for me!

i had this same problem a few days after i froze some bloatware.
i defrosted everything and now my contact list works again.

Ok, I've experienced something rather weird with the latest leak. Sometimes I notice that the display will not go to sleep. I'm thinking its an app keeping it awake, but no. I go into the display settings and my screen timeout has been changed to "never timeout" or whatever. I find it odd that it is doing that. I don't think it's my pocket doing it because it would have to go through too many specific steps to get there and click it. And it has happened twice in the past week.

Anyone else??

has anyone had the sync icon pop back up after the fatory reset. im not bothered by it and just havent had the time to do it and reset all my apps. ive tinkered with it and found that if you force close social messaging service under your running apps the icon disappears but eventually comes back.

My only issue is that my LED lights in the notification bar are almost completely nonexistent. When I get an e-mail, the default green LED flashes until I turn on the screen, but after that (even if I immediately turn it back off, without even going past the lock screen) it won't come back on. With calls or with text messages, the LED flashes briefly when the communication comes in, but the LED never comes on after that. I've seen several others on this thread complain of the same thing, but haven't seen a fix or suggestion for resolving it. Anyone got any ideas?

I had this happen when I upgraded, and had to do a factory reset to make it go away (you may have to go through the factory reset motions a couple times - make sure you clear both the data and the cache several times). I don't think it's harmful in itself, but the constant sync will eat through your battery life in a hurry, so it is definitely to your benefit to resolve it.

Not sure if you were answering me or not. But I have nothing frozen, and have removed nothing. My 3g icon randomly goes white sometimes and when it does I can't make data connections, but can still make calls.

Why does my 3g randomly turn white and I lose data? Only way I can fix is to toggle airplane mode or reboot.
Same thing happens to me with wifi. I have to toggle wifi.

I did a factory reset and still having so many issues with this. I really hope that OTA/Leak the other day isn't the final.

If I happen to be on wifi when it happens it turns white too. Basically, 3g and wifi are the same color, be it white or blue.

Like others, I am having 3G problems too.. only rebooting and toggling Airplane mode don't fix it!!!!

Someone please heeeellllllp! lol

I recently notice a issue that started a few days ago, I would have music playing while gaming (Zenonia 2) and the phone will randomly reboot with out a reason. That is just one example, it also does the same thing while having a few applications running at the same time.

I will do a data/cache wipe and see if that fixes the issue, if not SBF back to .340 and re install (forgot to do a backup).

My phone still powers itself on without me initiating it. I shut it off at night and when I come down in the morning it's on. It's not on the charger either. It's either a bug or my cat is trying to make me crazy.

ive got to be honest...the original GingerBlur leak was MUCH more stable for me than the newest...ive had quite a few random reboots on the newer leak...while the original leak ran like a champ...

i might try a data wipe later and see if it clears it up..but part of me wants to just want for ApeX 2.0 to drop...

Fab has released an alpha version on his twitter acct @bigxie. I've been running it since this afternoon and it is very stable. It is definitely worth the try. I'm really enjoying it.

yeah i've been following him on twitter...i just can't give up the look of GingerBlur or i would have installed the Alpha build already...

hopefully once the full version of ApeX 2.0 drops a few of us can team up on here and get a GingerBlur Theme for Apex going..

OK, I was late rooted/themed pre .340 bloomer - this morning I successfully sbf'd back to stock FroYo, FINALLY accepted the .340 OTA and flashed the GB leak, used Z4 to root - alls well.

Ran into the Contact problem, thawed, solved.

Some other bugs in apps and learning recovery have me scratching my head but I'm taking it slowly.

BUT - MAPS, ok, I've searched along the net and noticed some others have this problem, few, but same problem. In Maps with whatever local service you prefer I locate myself accurately but before I went to GB in maps if I pointed my phone in a certain direction that street would be in front of me, same with street view, the arrow pointed which direction you pointed your phone, as if you also searched in Maps the little arrow would point to your destination and distance.

MY PROBLEM is the BACK of my phone points in the correct direction, like the arrow is inverted. At first I thought it was the new screwy Maps version, I down graded, same result, I even used TB and restored a much older version - unfortunately it was so old there wasn't an arrow, just the blue dot - no direction. I compared my girls TB Maps (which is the same version) and it looks the exact same, except her arrow actually points where the phone is pointing, like it should - so unless its a conflict with GB and Maps I'm not sure whats up. I reported it to Google, calibrated my compass several times until it was green, rebooted, cleared cache. Its really anoying considering I loved the street view, now when I look at a house/local its really behind me - no sense at all.

Anyone else have this problem? INVERTED ARROW IN "MAPS" NOT POINTING TRUE FORWARD

Haven't removed any apps
All apps thawed
No restores via TB
No renames
GPS works fine, accurate to 4 meters
Same result in Compass mode

Please tell me I'm not the only one -

Aside from that and the sync icon(which I'm still sceptical on honestly how much battery it really draws considering its at the bottom of the list) I love GB - I had a blue them on froyo, this fits the bill topped with LP and BW

TIA!

Small, but very annoying bug in GB. My hard key back lights simply stop working. I did have a fix [my fix was Settings>Display and toggle the automatic brightness.], but it seems the fix only works one time. If they go out again, you can not use the fix. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm a writer, and before Gingerbread I could put my caller on speakerphone to record the interview, and it worked great. Now, since the update, every person I've talked to has complained that they have echoes and difficulty hearing me.

There are no stable apps for recording a call on the Droid X, and being able to record my calls is essential to my job. Is there anything I can do? Help!

Thank you!

Karen

Get a Google Voice number and you can record the calls simply by pressing the number 4 on your keypad.
