Root 2.3.3 Gingerbread Issues Thread

Where do I start: well the lag first of all then I can't downloa anything, also NO FREAKING ROOT and last but not least my alarm and time the display on top reads 615am and its 2 in the afternoon and my alarm clock doesn't work. I WANT OUT

I guess it's worth a shot.

Ha, it's funny because when I read the very first guy who said the hard keys were lit up super bright I remember thinking he must have just never noticed how bright they were before. Then when I read someone else echo his remarks I thought he must have thought they were brighter simply because he had read the other guy saying they were lit up brighter. Then I flashed Gingerbread and the first thing I noticed was.... "wholy shit are the hard keys ever ****ing BRIGHT"!!!

:D

yes they are lol. Also someone on here said yesterday that they eventually go out when docked and in clock mode with everything else dim....no ..no they do not. they stay shining all damn night unless you hit the sleep button ...then the clock and everything goes away.

i'm glad your first post ever was of this caliber.....actually there is a rooted version.

Im starting to develop a rebooting issue when unlocking the phone, so far it has been random but seems to be getting more consistent.

SBF-> wipe/data-> rooted w/z4-> installed D2 Bootstrap -> flashed the GB "dxgbrooted.zip" -> restored everything with TiBackup ... I have DX OC installed but running on stock settings.

I had GB on there but couldn't receive calls or text. Stock restored, now Im stuck at Red M. Did power+home, triangle + volume buttons, Wiped data/factory again... now it keeps getting stuck at red M. pulling battery doesn't work.... need some help

Sounds like you need to SBF back to .340

If you're on the red M, you don't have the stock version restored.

SBF with the full 2.3.340 file. The stock M is silver.

I'm convinced my market is screwy...
Under my apps, it's missing most of them. Also, I've seen the notification pop up saying there are updates available, I go into my apps, and nothing says update(again, missing many apps)
I also don't think that the market installed the lastest update of any of my apps. I keep running into issues of apps not launching or I know they are an older version when I had the newer version before my update to GB.

Anybody got any ideas????

Fix permissions with TIBU or Droid X overclock app (jrummys).

my battery is definitely taking a bigger hit than with any previous ROMs. I'm not opposed to just throwing it on the charger cuz so far I LOVE GB! Hopefully the official, official release will have better batt life, for me.

My battery seems to be mirroring Binary Visions remarkable life. But of course it's only been two days. A little early to actually be able to see a regular pattern just yet.

Just some data:

My phone has been on for 10 hours, and it's at 70%. Under battery usage, display has been on for 2 hours, I've spent about 20 minutes on the phone, and most of the time the display was on, I was either browsing the web in the android marketplace on 3G, so a fair amount of data transfer. Couple games too but I don't think they amount to much.

All radios on (I leave Wifi and Bluetooth on even when I'm not using them), push email, and my twitter/facebook updating every 30 minutes. I'm not near Wifi so any data is over 3G.

Ok so I posted earlier that when I try to download any sort of .zip (deodexed gb zip) the download instantly fails. I have since then sbf the full 2.2.340, then applied z4 root, and then installed the gbrooted zip. I did a factory reset and even a cw reset. I still can't download any .zip from links. I don't want to have to hook up my phone every time to the comp and drag to my sd card. Any android den masters have any ideas.... I would love you for ever

ok...so, i looked all through TIBU and couldn't find where fix permissions is...
then I went to DroidX overclock, app fails to load and tells me to download from the market. This will be the 4th time I've had this happen and downloaded again. Any ideas on this one?

In TIBU go to.

Menu>More>Market Doctor and run it.

If it still does not work, trying installing an app from the market. If that does not work, try rebooting your phone. Usually just installing an app from the market will get you back on the right track.

I'm not sure if this is what i causing many of these problems, but when they finally got a good bootable Gingerbread rom going in the D1, almost everyone had issues of all sorts dealing with apps when they used Titanium Backup to restore things from a backup they made on a Froyo Rom. I have read through several of the issues on this thread and just wondered if its not all the same. If some one that is having issues would want to try, do a factory reset of their GB and let all your apps download form the market themselves and not use TiBu AT ALL and see if the same issues come back. Just a thought.........

If not already mentioned. The market and voice search sometimes randomly can't connect to the network. Only a cache wipe solves this.

I'm going to have to take a screen shot of my phone because its unbelievable. I dont even think its accurate....something's gotta be wrong:

I am sitting at 1 day 18 hrs

Display is 45%, been on for 4 hours.

Phone Idle 19%, is 1 day 13 hours.

Cell Standby is 18%, is at 1 day 18 hours.

Wifi is 7%, is at 12 hours.

I know Wifi is supposed to be better on battery life vs. 3G. But it says my phone display has been on for 4 hours.

I coulda sworn I plugged it in before I went to work, I cant remember tho.

I havent played any games. No phone calls in that time. I been downloading apps here n there, I listened to the radio and used Power Amp going to and leaving work.

This cant be right. I havent dont anything extra to it like SetCPU or Auto Killer.

My led doesnt light up for any notifications only when charging. period. Using Batmonx... did GB come with a working LED?

in the market place it only shows the apps I paid for
I wanted to clear data on market place through application but it wont let me any ideas

I have the same prob. I went through and reinstalled all my apps and now it shows like 7 total out of 20+ Clearing the data and cache from market place used to work, all apps would show up next time you launched the market place.

Anyone else had issues with this?

I may revert to total noob status after this question. But here goes. I LOVED the widget picker that looped all the widgets together in the menu to add a widget. Of course now it's gone with GBlur. Is there a way to get it back? Or is that a bit down the road. It was just a part of my last ROM.
Thanks all!

I was having terrible battery life with GB. I actually saw it go down by 20 percent in the span of 30 minutes and I wasn't doing anything on my phone. I ended up sbf'ing back and reloaded liberty and now I'm getting awesome battery life again. Maybe I will try GB again on a fresh install. Hopefully that will fix things...

Also I forgot to add I was experiencing some severe lag after using the phone fora while. A quick cache clear would fix it temporarily but after a while it would come back. I couldn't pin point the problem though.
