Root 2.3.3 Gingerbread Issues Thread

all apps are from the market originally...
I did NOT use TIBU to restore my apps (although I usually do between ROMS) I wanted all fresh installs from the market.
I've run jrummy's fix permissions through overclock, nothing happened.

But not this time, thats where they lost their link to the market. you will have to uninstall and redownload them from the market to ge that link back in. unless there are other apps that can do that for you, I'm not familuar with any. Any one else know and easier way to link apps back the the market? If you still have your titanium backup, uninstall the apps you are having issues with and try using Titanium Backup for just those apps, don't restore data. I think thats where folks were having issues in on the D1 using TiBu to restore coming from Froyo to Gingerbread.

I used Easy Installer to install the Fix.apk and then ran the fix app.
 
OK, I'm sorry bbuck and RedWingsFanEd but I think I'm confused with our conversation. LOL I think I quoted and missread a few posts back, and now I'm lost. Sorry If I have every one else confused.

Edit: Trying to get straight on whats going on... RedWingsFanEd, your market is fixed? and you used JRummys fix for it? does that app "relink" apps back to the market? I was thinking it changes the Build number of the OS so that apps that were not showing in the market for GB that used to show in Froyo would then show up in the GB market. I could very easily be wrong. I'm jsut trying to help.
 
Thanks trav, but yeah I think you had us confused. All my apps are originally installed from the market, and I let them reinstall from the market when I flashed GB. Normally I would cancel those installs and use TIBU, but not this time. I had seen everyone else having a ton of problems with sync notifications and other oddities. Maybe I will sbf back to .340 and start over. No biggie, will just wait til I have time this weekend. Really other than this market issue and a couple of weird quirks, I'm really enjoying this build. It gives me a LOT of hope for the official OTA, whenever VZW decides to release it.

Oh, and just for confirmation can someone try this...
-while in text messaging, open up a message thread, bring up the keyboard while in portrait, rotate your phone to landscape, then hit the back key. whenever my keyboard is up and the screen rotates and I back out the thread jumps to the first message in the thread.

Downloaded and ran it, didn't fix anything :( Sucks, downloaded allllll my apps one by one instead of using TIBU and they still don't show up in "my apps" in the market, lol. Anyone else get something to work? Is there some cache i should be clearing first?
 
Dll gingerblur everything seams dexed ok installed theme having issues with root explorer getting force closes plus lots of lag with the keyboard
 
Ok only issue so far is I can't remove any factory .apk's like kindle or blockbuster via root explorer.

Running GB with Z4 root. D2 bootstrapper, only issue I had was the not able to remove their factory crappy aps and the backup icon. Got rid of backup icon via factory reset. All is good I love it over the old blur setup.

Ohh I found ADW launcher runs well and when switched to vertical plane scrolling on the drawer settings and it works well.

DX/D2 overclocker works well and so does setcpu.

If you have root, what is stopping you?

I have all of the bloat apps removed, and actually quite a lot of the Blur bits that I'm not using as well. So it's definitely possible - are you running into problems?

Long press on a name to bring up a menu. Select "call contact". :D

Yeah I am rooted with root explorer to view system files. The aps seem to not get removed I mount to read write and still the aps are there.

Edit*: I downloaded super manager and found the apps and was able to remove them. So I love GB and recentlygot handcent, I love my phone lol.
 
My Picasa account keeps telling me the credentials are no good and pops up a notification. Hit OK and it connects again just fine...

Small annoyance, as it works just fine.
 
The only real issue I am having with GB is I can't get it to connect to my wpa2 enabled Belkin router. It just keeps trying to "obtain ip address" but never any success. Did a complete sbf flashback to 2.3.340 and no problems connecting. I do a clean install of GB (rooted) and the problem is back. I remember the same thing happening with my original Droid and some ROMS. Something about my router and specific ROMs set this off :-(
 
My GB won't reinstall my applications from the market. I've let it sit overnight and nothing's happening.

Also, it appears I have an endless sync going on. I checked to see what it said was syncing and it's my Gmail. I don't know how to fix that. I hope it doesn't kill my battery. I've been using my phone lately for a lot of work related calls. >_<

I hope some people here have answers for meeeeee! :D
 
On GB Root-

Sending emails from my POP3 account only work on 3G. When I'm on WiFi I can't send from that account? I get "Error: Message not sent" and the message just sits in my out box.

Anybody able to duplicate this or confirm its just my device.

The problem is most likely the port number you're using. Try using port 587 instead of 25.
 
Thanks Yaw, but no luck...

I'm getting "send action cancelled"

Port 25- Send on 3G, not on wifi
Port 587- Can't send on either wifi or 3G

I had the sync icon that wouldn't go away too...had to factory reset and re install GB.
