Root 2.3.3 Gingerbread Issues Thread

Can you have your own number display to the caller using Google Voice? And how is the call quality? That's VOIP, right?

When you say own number what do you mean? If you get a Google Voice number it displays like any other number. if you want it to display your VZW number I'm not sure but i may be able to. tThere are lots of options so I'm not 100% on the last part. the Call quality is no different than VZW's call quality. I use it for all my calls and never had any issues with it. The only thing is you will have to either give out a new number (your GV number) or have the person you want to record call the GV number if you aren't going to use your GV all the time.

I believe yu can even port your number now but you have to do a little dance with VZW to make sure they don't cancels your service. (You basically have to add a line first, port your number from one line then go back to VZW and cancel the one line again.)
Hey it can't hurt you to check it out its FREE!

Yeah, I want to use my Verizon number, and it looks like you can port your number now. But apparently you can only record incoming calls. I might be able to make it work — thanks for your help!

A few things I don't like...
1. When sending a text I can't access my contacts to send it to multiple people. I only get a recently texted list. Lame

2. Camera not remembering resolution is ******ed.

3. My camera and Video both always mess up on the first try. Camera will set off flash, flash will turn off picture will take. Video won't save first video.

4. I am having problems with my WiFi. It won't connect.

5. I want to be able to set the Text Notification to "Vibrate Only in Silent Mode" like the ringer.

6. I would like to be able to swipe left or right while reading a text to switch to previous or next text in the list.

I can't think of anything else right now lol:confused:

My battery life seems to have dropped significantly since the pushed update 2.3.3 was installed a few days ago. I was able to get about 3 days of light usage with 2.2 and it now seems more than half used up in less than a day.

Any suggestions?

The one thing I have noticed is the web browser acts funny now. When you tap the screen for it to zoom in or out I used to be able to tap it once. Now I have to tap the damn thing like 3 times for it to zoom out. Well, double tap actually but you get the idea.

Found some new, interesting issues with my GB.

- Turning on flash results in black pictures. No, seriously; flash goes off, picture turns black.

- Tasker has told me I've run out of memory almost five times now. I'm not even running anything more than I did on Froyo, yet somehow my memory is being gobbled up by I don't even know what. The apps I use are the same as before, so I'm assuming the stock GB apps that are running must be doing it, and it's getting really annoying. Settings alone is 8-10 MB, Maps is 5.4 MB (and why is it constantly running anyway?), Market is 7.4 MB, Google Services is 6.7 MB...

i have the same issue with the pix being black. The second time you take a picture, it will be fine, the flash is messed up and doesn't time properly on the first shot, but it's fixed on the next one and until you close camera, it will work fine.

Not for me, I tried it. Several times. Took several pics, and every single one with flash was completely black. Turned flash off, and it worked fine. Also tried recoding a video, which, when I later tried to open it, had nothing in it (but showed a picture preview in my gallery). Don't know if that may be a glitch either, but it's weird.

Have you tried a 3rd party app like Vignette or Camera360?

Both should have free versions you can try out.

I have both, but much prefer Camera360. Really improves the level of pics I can take with the X, and also seems to remedy the camera issues with GB.
