Root 2.3.3 Root help

i have a problem and some question to root my phone.
normally, when it comes to guide, i never have to ask question but in this case i do. i've done a lot of software mod before like psp,xbox etc..

my phone current version is HTC EVO 4g 2.3.3 GB.
Supersonic EVT3 SHIP S-off
HBOOT 2.16. 0001
MICROP -041f
TOUCH PANEL - ATMEL02_16AC
RADIO-2.15.00.05.02
MAR 8 2011, 7:02:15

I follow exactly what this guide step are listed and a few smilar to this http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html

it dosnt work for me. right before i put in my bypass beta key it stop at "zerging Root..etc"

my question are, since my phone already have S-off, do i need to just skip this part and proceed with installing a recovery file from Guide "switching recoveries" with PC35IMG RA 2.3 ZIP?

from my own logical sense, my phone have S-off. all i need is the recovery installed in order to install rooted rom?

yes that is all you have to do. you have s-off all you need to do is install amon ra and then flash the su file.
 
hahaha, this place is one of a kind. thanks man, i think this place might become my daily visit. seem like a good impression for the phone lover community here.

It has become my fav daily android forum!! xda is great, and has lots of info (so much, its hard to find what ur lookin for) but with all the drama, and attitudes over there, it kinda turns me off....

Not to mention... they expect u to read over a thousand pages to find answers to simple questions.... If U ask, they tell u to read... Idk about u guys... but I got 3 kids, and work etc... I dont got time to read 1k+ pages tp find answers to simple problems.... At least over here, they will give u the answer, or point u to where the answer lies, so u dont have to read 1k+ pages of flaming, and attitude....
