2.3.340 is here! Post your experiences

I've had a few random reboots after the "upgrade", and at times my phone (stock, not rooted) seems to have issues (overly long delay before being requested to say a command, or it just does nothing) when starting voice commands from my bluetooth ear piece.

I updated my phone late last week. I have to say that I am impressed with this update. I was very afraid after the previous update but this time it looks like they got things right. My battery life is just as good, if not better, the screens change smoother, my corporate email syncs consistantly now, and most importantly I no longer have to do battery pulls every day. Thanks.

+1 to the above (although I never had to pull the battery). I have also noticed no more batt. mgr. F/C's.

Battery life was excellent before the 2.2.1, and is at least as good if not better - very happy with the DX!

Maybe just a glitch, but my two Motorola Bluetooths (H720 series) that are paired and work great with the DX (and worked great after the update for several days) dropped off communicating with the phone suddenly. And not because I did anything out of the ordinary. I was making and taking calls one minute, from two feet away from the DX, then went to make the next call and - nothing. Both BT's and the DX were fully charged, but neither BT would communicate with the phone at all. They both showed as paired and connected in the settings.

I rebooted and they are working great again.

My phone is stock.

In NC at the beach, 2 pure stock DX's update and install flawless, both up and running. See? Life is good at the beach!

I updated with the leaked update file before the public release. Before the update I was getting a lot of lag and drag, and I would have to reboot and clean the cache at least once a day.

After the update, it was like I had a new phone. The lag was gone, and the phone felt pretty zippy. I also haven't seen a random reboot since the update.

It's now been several days since the update, and the lag and drag has started to creep back into the phone. I guess I need to try to figure out what is affecting my phone.

Query: Can having too many apps installed, even if most of them are not being actively used, affect the overall performance of the phone?

Update went smoothly. No problems. Fixed random mp3s not playing and battery app force close.

Like the new Dialer. Finally name dialing with the stock dialer.

I had OTA 2.2 Bootloader was 30.04
I couldn't update to the new OTA 2.3.320 no matter what I did, root, reset, etc.
I did SFB 30.04 VZR_MB810_2.3.32_1FF01.sbf
It RDS says it went fine. Phone is still the same, home screens and apps, as before I did SFB so I think it didn't work, but not sure.
Now when I do the check for updates, it says it is up to date.
Not sure where I stand. I guess SFB didn't work and for some reason I cannot get the new update?
Any advice?

Just SBF again with identical results.

Go into your social settings and make sure the Only Sync Over WiFi option is unchecked. I've seen on here that particular option was giving people problems.

Your home screens won't change just because you SBF. The SBF only replaces your system file.

After your SBF, go to the homescreens, hit Menu > Settings > About Phone. That will tell you your version.

So your SBF worked. If you want to go back to defaults, boot into recovery (power up while holding the home button), press search, then scroll down to clear cache and data. That will put you where I think you expected to be - with a clean 2.2.1 system, no apps or settings.

The SBF only replaces the /system partition, the kernel, the bootloader and the radio image. It leaves all of your user apps and settings intact. Which is why some people get thrown into a bootloop after they do the SBF - they have some incompatible setting or app.

I did download and install the update the other day. My X is working better than ever has. I hardly get any lag on it.

Update went smooth for me, downloaded and installed without a problem. Phone seems a little smoother as well but thats mostly placebo or the fresh restart.

Battery manager no longer force closes, but I launched the Market to do updates and right after telling it to install the first update it force closed. Relaunching and going through the other updates and it was fine, so probably just some fluke.

Just an update, installed the update 2 days ago. Haven't rebooted my phone since and it is running just as smooth as when I installed the update. Spent about 1.5 hours on my phone playing games and checking email/texts (and sending some of both) along with a 20 minute call and my phone was down to 70% after a total 15 hours since unplugged (that's 13.5 hours of being idle, 1.5 hours of light-medium usage). Cannot say it's better than before the update, but it's definitely not any worse.

No issues yet either, no battery manager crashes, no random reboots (yet), etc. Working great since the update. Really glad to see that the less lag I experienced the day I updated was not just placebo/fresh reboot.....it still feels roughly the same as when I updated and still feels less laggy than before the update.

Has anybody else noticed the vibration is a lot stronger on this update?

I updated and now I can't figure out how to turn the phone to completely silent using the volume rocker.

It used to be that the lowest setting was "silent". Now the lowest setting is "vibrate", which still makes tons of noise when the phone is sitting on my desk.

Little help?

I can't speak to the volume rocker not getting to silent, but I use a widget on my home page to change my phone from Ring/ Vibrate / Silent. It's called Silent Toggle Widget and you can fine it in the market. I think there are several widgets that do this as well.

My battery life has improved after upgrade, and then taking forum tips in settings to maximize battery life.

I'm a heavy phone user (telemarketing), and I use navigation by GPS a lot (not always on a charger). With the upgrade, and the battery saving tips from you guys, it's been a big improvement over an already great platform.

Thanks to all for the collaborative help!!!

After the upgrade, I noticed no real change in anything, until I connected to WiFi and did a speed check, using Speed Test. Both upload and download speeds were double of what I had tested previously via WiFi. The 3G speeds were not improved.

Well, my Battery Manager doesn't "force close" anymore... It just says "The application (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." It doesn't do this as much as when it "force closed" before the update, but it's still very annoying.

i had 2 random reboots today. stock, no custom rom, only use launcher pro. weird.
