2.3.340 is here! Post your experiences

From the email they sent out to the "test" group last night, it sounds like they only had it available for a short time. My guess is they turned it on and then turned it off to give time for feedback to come in.

Which would be why no one is able to update to it anymore. You'll probably have to wait for it to be released to everyone.

I got some feedback for them. Don't F..k us folks who have been pushed to 2.3.9 in getting the update.

Quite possibly.

A coworker just tried with his and same result, no update available.

I pulled it at 5:00am. Installed flawlessly though the first boot seemed very long. I lost root but will re-root with Z4. I got the "not available" message at first but tried again a few minutes later and got it.

no update available still-im in IN. Called up my local verizon and the girl didnt even know what i was asking about, put me on hold and told me it will "automatically" happen when my phone is ready for it. why cant verizon just be easy and give it to everyone

I'm in FL got it flawlessly (unrooted) and to my surprise my corp email is sync perfectly.I have the touchdown app due to moto corp email sync issue and now i'm not using it at all, looks like Moto decided to step up and fix the active synch bug.

Hey man... Does TouchDown still work? I have an html signature so I likes me the TD. wonder if the update lets you use html signature in the stock mail program for corp exchange?

Nothing yet here in Denver:(

I'm running a totally stock, non-rooted DX that OTA'd to 2.3.15 with no issues a couple months ago. Been loving the phone and am looking forward to more improvements - curious to see what this update does...

Wonder why mine would tell me I'm up to date when I'm still on 2.3.15? It's like it just bypassed my phone for some reason. Or my area maybe? Might have to get the file when it's available online. (Or maybe they push it out according to some other grouping method).

I am in SC and no update here as well

I read that the OTA update for the Droid X is only being sent out to moto test users and is on pause now and will resume the OTA rolling out to the rest of us within the next few days.

You didn't honestly expect EA to give it away for free, did you?

No, that aspect doesn't bother me, but if I'm forced to have it on my phone, it would have been nice if it were the full version. Between, this, NFS-Shift and the Blockbuster app I just wish I had the choice to uninstall them if I don't use them without having to root.

I was able to remove the NFS game but not the blockbuster app before I rooted...

BTW, I just ran the installation for Madden 2011 (by clicking the Madden icon) and can confirm....

It's a demo version...

$9.99 to buy the full version.

thats complete bull. not only are they gonna put some sh|t on your phone but its gonna be a crappy demo on top of it all..

Just curious -- but do I need to rename my .bak files back to .apk in /system/app in order to update successfully? I've seen this asked several times but I don't think I've seen the answer yet.
I had tried loading the update and it failed, I changed all the .bak's back to .apk's and then the update worked just fine. So IMO, you need the stupid bloatware on there in order to do the update. I did loose root though

LauncherPro allows app hiding. I've used it liberally on trash apps.

I tried that application earlier, I don't know why, but I didnt like it.

It makes me mad too because I have to install applications to hide applications. I should be able to remove whatever I want from my phone, you know?
