For those who are praising their battery life after the update, I see an opposite. I have an extended battery and haven't installed a single new application since update (well, I did a few and than uninstalled right away). So I'm comparing apples to apples in here. The battery is being drained in idle state at a rate probably 20% higher than before. My display is at its lowest setting. I hardly use phone at all, and it tells me that standby/idle/display eating 88% of my battery?!? All stock with email set to Data Push so I don't fetch it periodically. No task killers; custom battery setting with no activity at off-peak hours. Any idea?
sure, and its called 2.3.340 update. But seriously, do you think something is leaching my resources? If nothing, could it be some system setting reset to default?
Try draining your battery completely and then charging it to full with ~1hr on the charger beyond the phone saying it's fully charged. Let us know how things fare once you've done that.
not sure draining our battery is a good idea - Li-ion batteries don't like that very much

just basing my knowledge off posts here and elsewhere that state running the batteries below 30% isn't a good idea
...I find simply freezing some of the bloat and its services extends life considerably. Course you could rom it.
