i just bought the at&t samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket almost 2weeks from now, but im staying in the Philippines now, will i still get the update even though i'm in asia? or it's exclusive in US area only????? cause i'm not getting the update on my phone, it keeps saying it's up to date! HELP PLEASE. i want to know cause i'm waiting for the 4.0 update and i'll be crashed if i can't update here in asia!

I am in the US, have 2.3.5 and my phone is up to date. Don't know of an update out there currently. I know the regular Galaxy S2 on At&t had an update awhile back.

That update was pulled shortly after roll out for unspecified reasons
Op...as long as you are connected to data you should receive updates.

my white gs2 is 1 month old and i have 2.3.5 but my friend who has the same phone but in black and about 3 month old has 2.3.6 so i believe it's supposed to be on either versions. They probably had some issues with 2.3.6 and pulled it out.
oic, well hopefully the 4.0 update comes soon

2.3.6 was draining batteries dead in about 4 hours without any use at all. I'm only semi-exaggerating. AT&T announced it and lots of boards like this one encouraged everyone to run out and join the feeding frenzy as fast as possible and get their updates, as if it was the second coming... three days later, mass revolt and no way back.
My philosophy: let the kiddies do the testing and sit back and watch. Some people had it forced on them. Too bad. That might be a good reason to root the phone and disable AT&T from shoving defective crap down your throat.
Quite happy to be "stuck" with my dusty 2.3.5. Makes rooting easier too.
