Root 2 Optimus V's

I ended up with two Optimus V's.

One is not activated yet and the other I bought used and it had CyanogenMod 7 installed. I can see now this was probably a mistake since I don't know much about smartphones to begin with and I REALLY have no clue about using the used phone with CyanogenMod 7 on it.

Is there anything interesting/special/neat/fun you can do with two of the same phones?

Can I use the same google email account with both of them or will that create some type of conflict?

P.S. Can I use the same Virgin Mobile account for both phones?

You would need to set up new accounts. I have three two are my kids they play with them like mini tablets and those two have backside on them.

Yes you can use the same gmail account on both phones, not sure what you mean by Virgin Mobile account....do you mean to use the same number on both phones or what? I don't have Virgin Mobile, I have a similar phone that works very similar called the Optimus M. Also Virgin doesn't like people with rooted phones, so don't tell them it is. The one that's not activated yet probably came with the original firmware and hasn't been rooted (I'm assuming) if you want that one to be rooted as well, make sure you read all the stickies and guides of how to root. People always skip the stickies and then brick their phone.
The phone with root you must also be careful with.

There's a lot you can do with a rooted phone (just be careful with the settings, don't touch something that you do't know what it does), there's a lot of app-related stuff you can do with the non-rooted phone and rooted phone (more for rooted phone)

Can I use the same Virgin Mobile account for both phones?

No. In order to activate the second phone you would need to create a brand new VM USA account. So you would have two payments each month. One for each phone and each on a separate account.

I pick up a 2nd, to turn into a WiFi only device, with google voice and grove IP to make and recieve free calls and text.

I have two Optimus Vs. One I bought used (rooted with CyanogenMod 7)--I don't know how to use it or it's not working properly).

I also have a new unrooted Optimus V.

Only the rooted phone has service.

How do I go about switching the service to the unactivated phone? I might need to switch back and forth a few times until I can figure things out.

I doubt VM will let you switch back n fourth between the two several times.

you do it on their website when you log in, or you do it over the phone with them.

You can switch via the VM USA web site from within your account. Or you can call VM and get assistance that way (I recommend this way). I've no idea how many times you can go back and forth with switching though. I think that might be more of a hassle than it's worth.
