Root 3.4.2 flashable zip Question

im back on 342 and given it a better shot....so far iam digging it....i do think i might like this more then fission 261 (but im still playing and you all know it will be hard to pull me away).

i took bo's black sms update for fission; yanked the sms file and tossed in the build.prop file from fis 261 to get back my swype to working and a couple apps from the market that werent showing. worked fine.

it is here if anyone wants it, as always; you're on your own.
buildprop.zip

also, i had this app so i tried it for oc and worked good. still testing.
jrummys fc everytime.

You're back to the dark side......lol....that new swype does look pretty nice, and works really well too :D

I'm overclocking too, I'm at 1265MHz and it's working pretty good :D

If you are going to install a theme, make sure you apply the deodexing zip first or you will bootloop  and if you rename certain system apks before applying the theme (not sure which ones since I renamed a lot of them....lol), you will also bootloop.

Yeah, I manually installed busybox (I used the one from ApeX because it was newer than the one I had from Fission or any other ROMs) in /system/bin before titanium backup would work.

Looks ok but I guess it's not my cup of tea .., I like that signal widget in the second link though, I got to find it.

Wow, thats great battery life!. Do you mind sharing what bloatware you froze? :D

No problem, here is the list of apps I froze,

Amazon MP3
blockbuster
city id
madden nfl
my verizon
nfs shift
vz navigator

Also, I am not OC'd and running the stock launcher with like 3 widgets. Plus, I only have about 25 apps installed at the moment. Like I said, we'll see how it does when I get more load on the system.

@faber78 Welcome back lol

Being one who likes to tinker with new builds... is there anything significant, other than batt life, that one would jump to this instead of just waiting for GB???

I just know if I go this weekend to take the time to set it all back up again GB will be right around the corner with my luck...

Is the battery life substantially better? I am going on a trip soon and am looking to maximize so I'm not stranded. I'm currently testing out Apex LV. If the battery life is really good, I can flash this, root, then install the GB theme I found on teh googlez.

Has anyone else noticed that the lockscreen doesnt seem to lag like it use to. Mine seems very fluent compared to previous builds. I personally feel this build is very solid overall and theres a lot of little tweaks to the blur that make it more enjoyable then previous builds

I like my verizon app lol..it does it's job, pay my bills, check mins, no real issues. Anyway "voice commands" seems to be the culript, since removing(freezing didn't do anything) everything "kinda" went back to normal.

During stand by my phone now uses around 1-4% ..so thats good. I would take some screen shots but can't bother :D ..feeling lazy.:o

anyway my phone seems more unstable with the GB theme and 104 apps with most bloatware removed.

I'm confused..it's making me consider an iPhone now, don't know why.

Today my phone basically started using 100% for no reason and slowed everything, I had to do a "kill all" to fix it. Also I was charging my phone via a PowerMat extra battery with my bluetooth connected, my phone notified me with "car dock connected" ..it kept coming up and interfering with my calls..Motorola has more work to do IMO ..

anyway I'm stressed a little...:(

lol i prefer it over .340 actually..i just don't know what made it so unstable lately..looks like I'm gonna re flash if it continues..

If Android can't keep up with my moderate use and 100apps then what good is it. Just saying..I hope the next Nexus is made by Motorola.

yeah, i agree....if it isnt meeting your needs ya gotta look elsewhere....i aint mad at ya....

lol funny ..I will just keep monitoring it though..I wonder what is taking Motorola/HTC so long to release gingerbread ..

Yeah, that was one of the first things I noticed. Really just feels smother all around. I am happy with it so far.

Don't do it! Lol. Sorry it isn't working out so well for you. Sounds like your giving it a heck of a try though. :D

:D:D I am ..so far it's smooth...but I unplugged at 1am, woke up with 80% battery left  ..check the cpu usage over night and it shows around 1-3% which is normal. So not sure what happen..

3.4.2 doesn't do 10% readings, that may be part of the issue, you have to modify it to read in 10% increments. Were you reading the percentage from the status bar?

Try Circle Battery Widget for a better battery readout.

You could try clearing Battery stats in bootstrap when your phone is fully charged.

Blur requires you to add your Facebook into to "Accounts" under "Settings." An AOSP ROM (Like Liberty, GummyJAR, RubiX, etc) lets you use it through the app itself.

I know.. but blur version sucks... over the atrix forums someone said after freezing some bloatware they got the option in the application instead. I'm trying to find out what you need to freeze to get that too.
