3dEvo: Pre-release miscellany

Im sure this had been said many times in this thread but... Sprint would not be smart to delay the release. With all these other dual core android phones coming out, they can only lose sales.

Im out of contract, using a crap Samsung Moment, and very itchy for something new. The Htc Sensation looks very good.. heck even the Droid X2 looks great, i don't have 4g available here anyway... Hurry Sprint!

Why do you suppose everyone should chime in on that subject?

And how do you think 3G impacts battery life? Do you favor task killers?

He was saying 3G is unlimited...LOL. And I readily assume everyone uses WiFi more than 3G due to speed. I'm sure this is something Sprint took into account as a vast majority of people have internet connections at home. This allows Sprint to keep their cheap pricing on unlimited data. They know the network won't be clogged up with everyone surfing the net on 3G. Suddenlink cable never goes out. I have seen network outages on Sprint. Those are more customary than my internet going out.
 
3G is unlimited, it's part of the unlimited data plan.

The LOL I'm seeing is how everything old attempts to be new again.

My favorite use of 3G is to watch music YouTubes.

One of my favorites is, If I Had A Hammer.

Unless I have a completely full signal, 3G sucks my battery dry in about 3 hours of barely using the phone. I turn on Wifi and my Evo lasts through 20 - 28 hours of light to moderate use. Just saying. (Plus it is faster.) I don't like task killers because I like to think that android will stop using stuff when it needs to, and I don't want to mess with its Zen thing.

I'm liking the system dump post though. Should mean good things! Even if it doesn't indicate a looming release, at least there might be some good ROMs that will take full advantage of the Evo 3D's capabilities. :-)

I remember reading that Tegra 2 has been available for over a year or something of the sort, it just hadn't been implemented in any commercial phone until recently.

Tegra 3 has been in development for a while too. It seems to me that Tegra 2 is a bit old and underpowered, considering a Hummingbird-based phone such as the galaxy S, which has been available for well over a year, can easily match it's efficiency.

This makes me a bit weary of owning any device with Tegra 2 inside, it'll certainly do fine for now, but there are better or equal choices already available and within the beginning-mid of next year I'm certain we'll be seeing Tegra 3 devices.

I definitely see your point here. A device with year old tech could be pretty far behind the curve, but at the same time, if you're waiting for the better tech that's coming out soon, you'll just always be waiting as opposed to enjoying. But really, beginning to middle of next year isn't that soon anyway (especially if you're due for an upgrade within the next few months).

I'm sorry but the 1.5ghz speculation seems way off base. I think you're reaching on that one buddy.
 
Even if BS (no pun intended) would just give some sort of reference to his claims (even if only on occasion), I might consider his claims. But, its always just random, far fetched ideas, making it very hard to believe.
