3dEvo: Pre-release miscellany

Real dumb question here and I know before I ask, but I don't know the answer. The Evo is my first Android phone. Does android recognize my paid for apps on the new phone or do I need to locate license keys and the like? Although I don't think I received any keys for some of the games I bought.

Your paid apps are bound to your gmail account. When you move to your new phone, just log in and redown load the apps. It is good to back up your apps on a sd card and move the sd card to the new phone, but if you are looking for a new start, you just need to log in and redownload everything. No new keys, if everything was bought from the android market.

Your apps are tied to your google/gmail adress and pw. And you need that to access the Market. You can access all of your prior downloaded apps on your new android phone if you add the same google account they were originally purchased with.

you'll be arrested for loitering :)
LOL... that would totally be my luck too. :D
Naw, I pre-ordered. I'm going to just be at the store that morning. :o

I feel like a burden has been lifted. I was taking this decision entirely too seriously probably. lol...

I'm excited to be a part of the HTC/Android family finally in 3 short weeks. ;)

I hope you didn't just ruin my June 24th party...:(

I am trying to read between the lines with all this stuff.

Motorola Titanium is a business phone so I can Sprint still releasing the 3D on the same date.

But..

Has Sprint ever released two phones on the same day? That leaked picture looks pretty damn official. So it looks definate the Moto is coming June 24th.

I believe the Motorola Titanium is part of Sprints "Nextel" line of phones. It's the first Android with push-to-talk. Right? So that would distance it even further from the Evo3D. I don't think Sprint would consider it Taboo to release both on the same day. They are in different categories entirely as far as I can tell.

I hope not.

I want to cancel my plan with VZW as soon as I can.

The Titanium is definetly a Nextel phone. I can see Sprint releasing both on same day too. I am just curious if it has ever been done before.

But whats even more intersting is how come we havent seen the Evo 3D on any of these leaked pics like the Titanium?

And a video was just posted on youtube that was taken yesterday and the HTC Rep still saying coming "summer"

I am starting to believe Sprint and HTC DONT even know themselves the date yet.

I'm pretty sure it's June 24th. I talked to a Mobile Rep at my local retailer and he said:
"Well, honestly we don't know when. But the HTC rep was in and hinted at the end of June. Then, after he left, our budget expectations for June 24th was raised much higher than normal & we don't have anything scheduled for release that day."

Take that for what it is though. A guy telling you what another guy said about another 3rd guy who may himself know or not know. lol

That, combined with the Radio Shack poster... I'm confident it's the 24th.

Yup

If it wasnt for the RS poster I would of lost all hope by now. Thats what we are all holding onto.

I think Monday Sprint will announce a release date.

I'm hoping they announce something on Monday. If not I suspect the earliest they'll announce it after that would be the 13th. Anything between those dates would be too close to the big event with Moto on the 9th. That's my logic though which doesn't necessarily follow Sprint's logic so we shall see.

super pumped for this phone.

I'll be upgrading from the following:

Sanyo Katana II. Anyone got a worse/older phone than me?

Ill be upgrading from a Nokia 2610 on ATT. I cant believe I passed on both the EVO and Epic, but there is no way I will pass on the 3D. First smartphone woohoo!

I'm remaining hopeful that we'll get a date tomorrow, June 4th, the 1 year anniversary of the EVO launch.

If we don't get it then, I agree that the 13th is looking likely.

No it isn't the first Android Nextel phone but it is their new one. Sprint would absolutely release this the same day as the 3d. Completely different buyers. (agreeing with you 100%).
