Ok so I went online and googled hidden menu apk cause cm7 and some other roms don't have the hidden menu option and a post in this forum from awhile back had the answer.
1. Use Speedtest.net from Market
2. Download proxy.txt
3. Using Root Explorer move it to /system/etc/inti.d
Make sure you have r/w on.
4. Press and hold and select permission and select all permissions
5. Reboot
6. Use Speedtest.net again
I did this and my 3G speed increased.
If for any reason you don't like it or your 3G runs slower just go into /system/etc/inti.d go to proxy.txt and delete it and reboot it goes back I double checked that too. I got the around the same score as before I put in the proxy.txt.
