3g finally answered!

Metro does not, repeat DOES NOT have 3g. I was just told so by a store owner and an indian working their support line. Only 4g, at least in miami.

metropcs is coming out with 4g soon they said in the NH store but what does that mean for us needing 3g will that be covered somehow during the 4g transition? also how the hell do i save my apps to run from the sd card
it askes me for ext size (using rom manager) it has options for 128 256 and 512 mb and others after that what the hell is this lol im confused and i just want to free up memory for hopefully a speed boost

From what I have been told metro is not going to have 3g but that is in my area where we already have 4g.
I figure if I stay token I can slow me down soI don't notice.

Doesn't Metro already have 4G? Then why would they release a 4G phone. they have had 4G for a while now, before the Ascend was released I believe.

Metro has 4G, but if you look at the 4G coverage, theres not many places with it. Detroit has it, but its only a 40 mile radius or so.

Miami beach and down town are fully covered and very well at that.
I live right on the magic line where 4g tweaks worse than an icer on a 3-day bender and my "unlimited" starts costing money.

crack a doodle-dooooooooo!

3G works beautifully here in Arizona where I am. Even up in the mountains. :)

But I'm looking forward now to 4G LTE. Hopefully the new firmware upgrade will support it.

:D

Metro has 4G released in very limited areas, but I have yet to talk to anyone who has an actual 3G connection. MetroPCS uses a CDMA network, which means you can't get 3G.

Regarding your other question, I would advise reading the guide on how to install the Icarus Mod, it mentions the formatting options, and it's entirely up to you which one you choose. You CANNOT install to the SD card with the 2.1 OS, only on a Mod like Icarus or on 2.2 Froyo.

Posting that question in this thread is off-topic, it should be a new thread, and ONLY if you don't find an answer otherwise.

Hmmmm.....I'm confused now Blast. LOL What do you mean when you say that the reason MetroPCS users can't get 3G is because it's a CDMA network. Isn't that what Cricket uses? I have no problem at all getting 3G. So what I don't understand, I guess, is the difference between CDMA for MetroPCS and CDMA for Cricket. D~uh!!! Clue me in!!! :D

Looks like you'll be getting the mythical, magical, "souped-up" 1x connection. (unless you get a 4g phone)

I think that rainbow you're living under is boosting your reception! Have you found the pot 'o gold yet?

Cool. Then when you get your iPhone you can set it on its edge and watch a video! If I find the pot 'o gold, I'm gonna hire you to redesign my phones desktop every day!

Why settle for only daily! :p

I work in Clearwater Fl, and people are able to get 4g there. However, that does nothing for my phone.

Awwww....I hope you get 3G for your phone soon! :)
