Anyone get this working yet for free? I tried a few suggestions and none work. I can connect to my Ally with no problems what so ever. I just keep getting the Verizon provisioning page asking me to pay another $20 a month to tether.
Just checking in to see if someone has found a work around for this? Free would be awesome !!!!:D

There is Android Tether and Easy Tether from the market. You have to have software installed on both the PC and phone to use them but they don't require root , a monthly tethering fee and no 2GB monthly limit. Android Tether is a little steep $30.00 and Easy Tether is around $10 I think.
unless your rooted and can use Barnacle, Verizon's $20.00 a month for 2GB, Android Tether $30.00, and Easy Tether around $10.00 are the only options you have.

I kinda knew verizon would try to make extra money off of that. If you don't want to root and use one of the listed products you can always use pdanet and usb tether and share that connection and setup a cheap wifi router connected to that pcs ethernet port. That's what I do and not only charges the phone but a routers wifi is much more reliable and stronger

I was mainly looking for a way to use my new ARCHOS 101 tablet when I'm not in an area that has WiFi. I was hoping to tether my tablet to my phone either by WiFi or Bluetooth and use my 3G on my phone. I guess I'll have to try and tether it with a USB cord. I was trying to find a solid solution that doesn't require a cord and uses my phones data plan since I have it with me all the time.

I'm looking for same solution for Archos 70. I have even tried to rooted using this [APP]SuperOneClick v1.5.5 (Root, Unroot, Enable Non-Market App, Get UNLOCK code) - xda-developers

it didn't tether anything but after 2.2.1 root didn't work anymore either.

Let me know a solution if you get one.
