3g on metro (for real)

I updated the roaming list by *228 and i installed 3020 and still there is no 3G in Pompano beach Florida.

3g up and running in galt lodi stockton manteca and tracy california but not in sacramento or the san francisco bay speed 180kbps to 290 kbps dl
 
Yesterday I shut off the 4G in Dallas and got 3G.... Once I left the 4G area it reverted back to 1x. 3G seems to be working in the Dallas area.

166kbps download 23kbps up
 
Guise, speeds!

so 1.1mb on 3g thats the same on 4g so in the bg way they made 4g in to 3g and call 4g 3g and 4g 3g mean on some phone you have to have the 50 dollar plan is getting same spd as the 3g data plans or wil the same 3g is new 4g and 4g is now 4g lte+ and will cost $10 more id you have smart phone you must pay 60+ and 70 for unl
 
3G is not offered by PRL 3019, the tower list is not up to date there.
What you need to see 3G is PRL 3020.

I was coming from the beach this morning and notice i had 3g from time to time, also when I got to my house the phone was showing 3g. (Daytona Beach FL).
 
Was at the game yesterday with a friend, who asked if Metro had recently upgraded the network (Tampa, SID 5109) because he's experiencing a remarkable improvement in his Samsung Code's performance. Took a look at his phone; sure enough, PRL 3020 had been pushed to it, and it was showing "EV"! Checked my wife's BB 8530...same thing!

Even though I've successfully forced 3020 and disabled LTE on my Indulge, I'm still on 1x! WTF?! Any ideas?

Interesting... you would be the first to confirm 3g outside of a few "rouges" around St Pete. Which stadium? RayJay or the Trop? If you were at the Trop, that would explain it.. I have had 3g show up once or twice for a few seconds in DT St. Pete, but never long enough to test bandwidth.
I think I only got it because I was data roaming; I had none to 1 bar of signal and I have my system selection set to Automatic under 'Mobile Networks.'
How was their signal strength when it happened and did your wife's BB have it other places also??

We were at the Trop but my friends were at home, in Tampa, when they first noticed the improvement. BTW, my friends are not tech-savvy, so they didn't do anything to their phones. One day, a "couple weeks" ago, they just noticed that their phones were suddenly Facebooking & surfing a lot faster!

I, on the other hand, live in Clearwater. I'll take another look at my wife's BB tonight to see whether it's still getting 3G that far away from DT St. Pete.

EDIT: Checked my wife's BB when I got home -- it's back to 1x, so it appears you were right about St. Pete.
 
Sounds like I need to get off my lazy bum and finally get around to doing this update, so I can do some additional testing in Pinellas county... lol
 
Ok had a weird one today. Driving around pinellas for work I looked down at my phone
around starkey and ulmerton I had 3g but no bars. I turned on 4g and had 4 g with
3 bars. Turned 4g back off and got 3g back with no bars again. I called my work phone
and it went through. Got off the phone turned 4g off again and no more 3g!!
Go figure. Did a prl update through *228 and it changed me back to prl3019!
WTF!

METRO: just turn on 3g in tampa already!

My boy has had an LG Metro android phone (cant remember the model), and his was running just the regular POS metro service, and now his phone, out of nowhere, says its running 3g, and his speeds are a lot faster.. Im guessing they just did it.. he doesnt pay anything extra.. but yeah.. he wasnt 3g, and now he is, with no intervention on his part..
 
I have the indulge and live in Arlington, Tx and my phone is still at the 3019 is this for certain areas or certain phones. I would like to use the 3g instead of 4g if I have to. Does anyone know what the update is or officially when it will be. On other hand does anyone know anything else on the Bryce I was looking at specs and it seem the only thing that the standy by is less the indulge and heavier, everything else is bigger. Does anyone know exactly when it comes out.

My question is does Indulge have the hardware to use 3G? I thought it was only a 1G and 4G phone.
