Help 3g signal

I recently unlocked my HTC hero from T-Mobile and put a 3 sim in, I rooted it and flashed VR 13 and updated the radio to 63.18.55.06EU, but the signal is terrible and not even getting more than 1 bar signal strength

Can anyone help me with this? have I flashed the wrong radio? I believe all the APN settings are correct for the 3 network (can send/recieve calls/texts okay)

That radio is pretty old, so it might be worthwhile trying the latest available here. I'm running it on my own Hero and have no problems when using my 3 SIM.

Of course, there's always the chance that you're simply in a poor reception spot.... have you compared the Hero to another handset?
