Root 3G Speed

For some reason lately it seems my 3G speed is pretty slow/spotty. Compared to my wife's Droid X2, it is terrible. What would be the difference considering we are in the same spot/distance from a tower? Keep in mind, I'm not familiar with the inner workings of the phone. I am on Velocity 1.2 OC'd at 768 and her X2 is stock.

Several reasons
*radio antenna dieing in your phone
*poor battery performance
*firmware needs reflashed
*cache needs cleaned
*free more memory
*an app could cause the mis performance as well
I get some bad days myself but my speed can range from 80-300kbs and i accasionally overheat my phone when tethering which could cause bad radio performance as well

I typically get 1.5 - 2.5 mbps. I think it's slow when it drops to 1 mbps.

I think 1 mb for speed is over kill bud. Thats more 4g speed

Naw, 4G is 10mbps+ from my understanding.

Anything above 2.32mbps can be considered "4g" on verizon since verizon's 3g caps out at 2.32mbps.

Mine is starting that too. I even notice calls starting to suck and having to repeat myself because I sound choppy and cut out from time to time(I always thought it was just signal dropping in and out but even sitting at home I have to walk outside from 1 bar to get 4 bars and still even with full strength still cuts out). Im actually noticing really laggy and spotty speed rollercoaster ride. I thought it could be throttling on verizons part but it could be zooming along at 2mb a sec and then an hour later and for days bearly get above 60kbps(seriously dialup or sometimes worse speeds). Ive also seen webpages timeout possibly due to bad packet requests and internet stalling. Also the last 4 months ive bearly downloaded 2 or 3 gigs.
