3UK 2.1 update news

i spent ages downloading backup apps and backing everything up (Mybackup pro has a 30 day free trial and also used SMS backup and restore)

However, they were not needed as all my contacts, text messages and bookmarks are still there. better safe than sorry though i guess.

Is anyone else getting problems with downloading? Mine won't allow me to download apps or sign into google talk?

i had the downloading apps problem for about 20 mins but it sorted itself out. give it a restart you should be fine.

oh ok,already tried restarting and it wont work, but i'll give it a while and try later.

whilst my contacts are all there, they are no longer linked to facebook and there pictures don't show up anymore, did you have this problem also?

yeah i've had the force close message a few times.

is there a quick way to link all contacts to facebook again? its gonna take ages otherwise
 
Ooooops! Just tried 25/12/2077 and I got the"atomic clock mean failure" message, now all I have on the screen is the green android monster thingy moving about - time for a factory reset I think!

I had the same problem shadders, then I remembered that the date was still set ahead. I reset the date and rebooted the phone and it started downloading. :D

Have you got the lastest ROM it ends in .73 in setting menu build number

haha yeah i realised that right after posting, so i changed the date and it immediately started working :)

now looking for a quick solution to link all my contacts back to facebook. its not even letting me do it manully person by person
 
yeah it was .73 build - strange things are now happening, just done a reset and when going through boot screens it displays Desire instead of hero and then I get that green android thing dancing about - Please come back 1.5 all is forgiven!!!!!!!!!! and the charging led now flashes blue constantly:eek:
 
actually all my contacts have now automatically linked to facebook! guess i just needed to be a bit patient :)

Mine shows 2.1-update 1 now build 3.35.771.1, everything working a-ok, no backup done, looks like most stuff is there.
 
you don't need separate updates, mine just did it in one.

so is it too early to start thinking of 2.2 :P haha (i guess the only way hero users are ever gonna see that one is by rooting)
