4.2 gapps

I got a quick question for you guys and root junkies. Do you think it is a good idea to goahead and flash the 4.2 gapps over my existing CM10 nightly. I am on the 4.1.2 version and wonder if they will work. Also is there any chance that something can go bad and screw up my system.

I know they are not native for android 4.1 but there is a lot of goodness that was included in there in 4.2 especially with gmail which I use all the time!!!!

You can give it a shot, but I'd backup just in case. If you're looking for 4.2 Gmail, you can install this:

Worked fine for me on a 4.1 ROM on my Gnex.

I was actually looking to just flash the whole apk from goo with all the gapps including clock gallery and stuff!!!

I've never tried it. If it doesn't work, it should just screw up your Google stuff and you may have com.google force closes. Just make sure you do a nandroid first.

If you want to wait until this evening I'll try it. I need an excuse to buy a Note 2 anyway.

Lol well I am absolutely ok with being your excuse to get that nice note 2. I think I may try it in a bit plus another nandroid is in order.
