4.4 Android Sprint, what are the problems?

I have a notification - System update downloaded - it is Android 4.4 and is ready for installation.

The last System update
I installed caused quite a few problems that took awhile to iron out, or maybe I just got used to it. 8-)

Anyway, who has guidance for us Sprint users?

OTA updates sometimes work and sometimes don't. It's not so much a matter of inherent problems with the update (although some updates do have bugs or "features" you don't want, like 4.4 not allowing apps to write to the SD card unless they've been modified to run in 4.4), but just that some model phones don't update over the air very well. (The S3 update to 4.3 is a shining [or should that be "tarnished"] example of that.)

I got the notification to upgrade to 4.4 the other day, and when I tried to do it (my phone is rooted), it went to TeamWin and the progress bar was like 25% done and the phone just restarted or something, and it's still at 4.3.. Now I can't figure out how to get it to try and update again. Going to the Check Firmware Update thing in the settings doesn't work, says I'm up to date.

Any ideas?

You can't update to 4.4 unless you unroot and have the the stock recovery installed. You'll then be able to take the OTA but you will need to reroot 4.4

Personally, I don't use TW roms so I'm still on 4.1.2 bootloader but keep my modem up to date.

Omnirom (aosp) has been my rom of choice for the last 5 months. Running 4.4.3 with plasma kernel and not a single issue right now. It's also nice to have active kernel development with aosp unlike TouchWiz.

Have you tried any aosp roms? Maybe worth a try with TW rom development on its last leg
