Help 404 / Database errors / Random Users and Staff unable to post in random forums & threads

Well from my point of view (as just a user), and I'm still using the app, some posts take ages to post and 5/10 they time out or give an error (losing my post forever) so I'm now in the habit of copying my posts to clipboard before hitting send.
It doesnt seem to be improving at all.
The strange thing is that if I edit one of my posts, it posts straight away with no issues.

Sorry guys if I'm posting on the wrong thread or if it's just the app that's the issue.
Just sharing my experience (you can imagine how frustrating it is when you type a long post, forget to copy it, send it only for it to vanish into androspace)
Cheers
(wow that posted first time lol go figure) :thumbsupdroid:

Oh yeah and some people it just won't let me PM. I hit send and the pm just sits there doing nothing, not even trying to load

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fi.rojekti.typemachine may be down your alley then. :thumbsupdroid:

(Obviously not a fix for the issues, but maybe it can lessen the pain a bit!)
Wow that is complete genius and I see a few of my geeky g+ friends have +1d it.
I'm extremely poor right now so it's added to my wishlist (just hope I don't forget about it lol. Try and remind me on Wednesday mate).
Thanks a million, that will save my phone from being bitten or thrown out the window.
Owe ya buddy :thumbsupdroid: ;)
PS doesn't it end up containing a huge database of text or is there a time limit that can be set?
Read the description but didn't notice anything about that :)

You can configure it to automatically clear out entries older than X days.
Wow. There is an amazing lack of permissions with that. It's a good thing since it is a keylogger, but I'm surprised they can pull it off with only one permission (launch at startup) needed.

Yep. Well it does act as an Accessibility agent, so you additionally grant it access to the input text stream (among other things), but it's nice that you don't have to worry about it pushing all your inputs out across the internet.

FAO @Phases

It's still happening...
"A server error occurred. Please try again later."
It's same on the website and in Tapatalk. Been like this for months now and it's intermittent. Sometimes make a post and it goes through just fine, others get this "server error" thing repeatedly.

Is it going to be fixed, or is it something we just have to put up with?
BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY IT'S EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!!!

It could actually drive members away, a forum not working properly.

Would it be a malfunctioning server causing these server errors, maybe try changing it. Like you might with a malfunctioning Android device. :)

I'm not getting server errors but its taking along time for my posts to post! It just sits there and spins for a couple of minutes and finally posts! I'm using the af app!

Spoke too soon. Getting time outs now :(
:thumbsupdroid: for KOLIO :D
Seriously, :beer : used to be my trademark emoji until the forum change :thumbsupdroid:

Actually, what I'm finding is that the replies are posting immediately (and if you keep clicking, they keep posting, hence all the dupe posts). If you click submit, wait a second and refresh the page, the post is there. I think the database delay/errors are coming on the back end of the procedure, possibly when trying to flush the cache that stores the messages as drafts?

I've had the same experience, the page just doesn't update automatically with your reply.

Not in my case brother (using AF app)
I never get dupe posts, they just time out.
sometimes the odd dupe thread though but they just seem to post normally and suddenly there's three lol

I got a data base error earlier that took me off the site altogether & wouldn't let me back on until I re-booted my computer.
All I could see was a white background w/the data base error message in the upper l/h corner of the page, nothing else.
1ST time I'd seen anything that extreme since the NGNIX errors,& they weren't all that bad,at least on my end................

Just noticed the PHANDROID page on desktop isn't formatting (?) correctly.
The top 10% or so of the page is chopped-off/not visible...........................
