Root 4G Help!!!

Foxworth

Newbie
Hey,

My 4G just says disconnected when I try and use it.
I am on Mik 2.59, I have tried wiping the cache & rebooting.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Ocnbrze,

It says Congratulations! Your HTC EVO RSA key is present!

I know before I rooted, my 4g was working.

Anything else I can try? & Ocn I am dreading that you are leaving.

No worries, there's a new breed of gurus developing right now. ;)

Ocn and I were noobs less than a year ago, we learned the ropes the same way yinz are learning.

As long as your RSA keys are present, you don't have to worry as much. Try as Ocn said, then we'll move on from there.

i'm not leaving, i'm just getting a new phone is all. but if you have your keys intact then try and wipe dalvik cache and cache and see if that helps/ if not then try another rom for comparison. do not forget to make a nandroid backup beforehand.

Do you have a suggestion on a ROM to try?
I really love this Mik Rom I am on now.

Sorry, I tried wiping and that didn't work.

Thanks again.

well mik3d just went rc1, you might want to try that. if you want performance rather then beauty then try aosp roms like cm7 or xplod. i really like xplod the latest one has some ICS in it. i heard that there is a cm7 theme that has ICS in it as well. also the swag rom is pretty good.

Ocnbrze & Granite,

Thanks for the help, I flashed Mik3d & that did the trick.
I re-flashed back to Mik 2.59 with a new clean flash and my 4g was back in action.

Thanks so much for you help...

BTW: Let me know when you get settled in with your 3d, I tried rooting over there and walked away with a headache. LOL

Ocn,

Thanks again for the help, I figure I better take advantage of you while you are here. LOL

Setcpu, do you have a suggestion on what to set it at or make a profile.
I tried reading the guide and some other threads, its like someone is talking a whole different language.

I just set my off to the minimum settings and that is all I could figure out.
I don't know if this matters, but I am running the mik 2.59 with aggressive freedom kernal.

Thanks again.

well on the main menu is where you will set your max(overclocking) and min(underclocking). also on the main page you can set your governor.

governors basically tell setcpu how fast to rev the cpu to the speed you set as well as how fast to slow down all according to what your max and min values are. some governors have a screen off profile built in them. interactive x and smartass governors both have this.

as far as profiles go, if you are not using smartass or interactive x, then the only profile i would suggest is the screen off profile. basically, it will underclock your phone so that you will not be wasting too much battery when the screen is off. adding more profiles will just be counterproductive. setcpu will be on all the time monitoring the profiles you set and thus wasting battery.

i always use samrtass or interactive x with no profiles set and my battery life has been pretty good with the aggressive freedom kernel. but all of these settings will vary for your phone. every phone is different.

One more question, should I check the Set on Boot box? ( SETCPU )

only if you know when you overclock that your phone can handle the setting. like for me my phone can go up to 1190 with no problem, but anything higher my phone freaks out. if i were to have that set on boot and go higher then 1190 i could get caught up in a bootloop. so make sure that you have it unchecked at first and see how your phone reacts. if everything is ok then you can set it on boot if you want.
