4G locked up... then fixed

I had an interesting occurrence yesterday. I was in the middle of checking weather, surfing the web, and data locked up completely.

Thought it somehow went into strange airplane mode. It didn't.

Display said 4G, and occasional up arrow, but never one down.

Rebooted phone. Nada. Checked "enable data" it was checked... should have been enabled.

Rebooted again, going to full off state first. Nada. I was in a known good 4G area, so I checked my co-worker.... has same phone, same plan. His works.

I finally turned off the phone, pulled the battery, reinstalled, and rebooted.

Everything working again, just like before.

Weird... just reporting the event thats all.

Yah I did that. No luck. It was "trying" to send up to the network (up arrow) which airplane mode would not do, but was getting no down from the network (down arrow).

Thats why I reported it here. This one caught me by surprise, and I messed with it for a while, thinking it was a setting. I'm thinking the "sim card" (which isn't a sim card) was needing to be reset, allowing connection to the 4G network - which is precisely what that card does.
 
That happened to me too. Airplane mode and restarting didn't help. I had to take out the battery. This all happened last night, around 12 or so.

Well that's weird...hmmm...
 
Happens when I had the LG Connect as well , It is MetroPCS servers , they auto shut down
for updates , etc and then you need to reboot to change servers/get reconnected
I ussuallly get the up but not down , You need both for service , akward , Happens on LG phones always for me , Creepy .... Maybe LG is having some problems with their antenna provider , Whoever made this antenna in this phone (I know how to find out , Use DX Toolbox) is cheapy
 
Just had this happen to me again a bit before 11am EST. I turned off wifi and data, then put into airplane mode. After about a minute I turned off airplane mode, turned my data back on and 4g started back up again.

Happened again to me too... about the same time. I could not get reconnected. Pulled battery... back in, good to go.
