Well, even with CDMA going away, the Wi-Fi will still work so you can access the internet on Wi-Fi. You just won't have an active cellular service; basically it'll be like a very small tablet.

Do you know a good way to connect too the WI-fi even with a weak signal?
 
Would it be possible to download apps such as free texting and calling on the WI-Fi connecting?
Also, how can i connect to wifi if my area/location has a weak signal?

Do you have Wi-Fi at your house? Just connect to that. Goto Starbucks or McDonalds and use their Wi-Fi. You have to be near a Wi-Fi spot to use it. I don't know anything about Wi-Fi calling, I don't use it.
