Root .602 vs .605

I am still on .602 running SSM-602.3 with R2D2 theme and I am real happy with it. So, I was wondering, is there any REAL reason to move up to .605? Other than getting rid of the every 12 hour nag popup telling me an update is available.

i can't believe your still getting the pop up running a custom Rom. Too be honest with you imo i couldn't really tell a diff between .602 and .605 i know different people have had various results though.

If your happy on it there should be something you can do like freeze that updater file i think and it will stop the pop up at least.

My phone has run better on every version of GingerBlur that comes out...but then I finally got not by the desire to go with a custom ROM recently...and now my phone is brand new...

.605 is wonderful...my phone ran GREAT on stock .605...

But its running even better on Liberty3 right now...which is built on. 605...

Personally I'd do the upgrade to .605 and install one of the latest custom ROMs

It's not a big deal getting the popups. Might take the .605 plunge soon.

Can you move straight from .602 to .605 or do you have to sbf back to stock .602 first?

i would imagine since you're on a ROM you're gonna have to SBF to .602 and take the update that way...then root...

I was on ICS MIUI and restored my stock 602 backup (during which time I was thinking, "that was stupid, I'm going to need to sbf", but it worked).

Then I took the 605 OTA, rooted, booted into recovery and formatted data, flashed ICS MIUI, rebooted, booted into recovery again and restored just data (advanced restore) from my previous MIUI nandroid. (Guess I was bored that day.) :D
