64 Gig Gen 2

Well have not gone to look yet but called my store and they don't even have the 32g in house, only the 16g. But at least you can look at the size. Not having the 32g in store is nuts.... seems either Att or Moto is trying their best to kill sales.

That is so not the answer I was hoping for. Lol but then again my store did say the 32 did not sell well and that the stores only carry what sells. Ugh but at least I can look at it up close.

Than again when I call stores they usually don't know anything unless you talk to a manager and even that is hit or miss.

I can guarantee that anything NOT in the store will not sell well <ROFL > It would take a very bad salesman to not be able to talk someone into the 32g unit if he would explain the advantages. ( or maybe ATT sales staff is so clueless they don't even know the advantages <g> )

oh come on now. you know that all any of them know how to sell any more is the iphone. Nothing wrong with that phone, but dont expect anyone in the stores to know anything about any other phone. i know when i go in a store to ask about anything they all look at me like i am crazy. i dont even see the point in making a 16.

Very true. You know with the small size of a gen 1 then tack on all the goodies of the gen 2 and toss in either 64g or 128g you'd have one heck of an iphone alternative.

Of course you're right.... when it comes to ATT sales staff the alphabet starts and stops with i.

I have seen it. I have held it. I have put it through it's paces.

I really can't describe to you effectively how nice the new X is. It does appear/feel "larger" than the original but not bigger if that makes any sense. It feels amazing in the hand, the screen is maybe the best I've ever seen, it is amazingly fast. Buttery smooth.

The new frame feels exceptional as well. It's really not something I can quantify or express it's something you'll need to check out for yourself. Go now, experience it for yourself. No seriously, get up, stop what you're doing and go look. :D

I am certain the size will turn some people off but I personally was relieved that as much bigger as it looks in your hand, how much more display there is that it just doesn't feel big. It was much more comfortable than say the one + one, or even the M8. It's VERY light and slim.

I will be ordering one. Any questions I may have had before this are now gone.

One word of warning, they had to go get the phone and get it set up on the demo board so I could see it, so I burned 15 minutes waiting on the ATT ineptitude. Hopefully your local store has their act together.

Good luck!

well i got on the chat with att and the lady told me a store in my city that showed to have 32g. cause really i dont care if i make the thing i just want the freaking phone. So i called over there and the guy had all 3 versions that they offer. he did some more digging and could not find out if it was 32 or not. his guess was since the black one was one price and the bamboo and leather one was more then they were really all just 16g. so since you can not upgrade on motomaker for the next program i asked do you have a card for the 32 that i can buy in the store. he said no!!! so what the ?????? the lady on the chat said she could walk me through it, but i never really trust all that. so i will go to the store when i get off in about 2 hours go check out the phone. talk to the people at my store and then go from there i guess. this is just as frustrating as it was last year. one would of thought they would have worked out all the kinks on this thing. i said last year i would not do this again and here i am doing it again. this time i dont even want to design i would be happy with just a plain black one. ugh!!!

One question does if feel smaller than the S5... I tried one of those and just couldn't talk myself into it. I'm hoping that the Gen 2 isn't that bad. I'd really like something the size of my Atrix but that would be asking for two much in this day of BIG phones.

Could you order a 32g in the store or do you have to get on the moto maker site?

That is the one I would get if I was to compromise on 32g.... all black.

Man, just think how nice these phones could be if Moto and ATT had some real marketing people and some insight into the market place <g>.

I think the ATT staff went down hill when the iphone came out.... some people just wanted it and the only thing the sales types needed to know was how to take their money <g>.

In my opinion, it feels smaller than any of the "big" flagship phones. But honestly, it's going to come down to how you feel about it. Go in store and check it out, order it from Moto directly. (I recommend the GSM unlocked version unless you're with Verizon - you can grab the 32 GB (no carrier BS apps - which saves space - and you can customize it - it's a win win)

Unfortunately it's my understanding the 32 GB version is only available through Motomaker (for the foreseeable future) much the same as the 32 and 64 was only available there the first time around.

And I too had the Atrix, I still miss having the fingerprint scanner. Maybe you and I got off on the wrong foot. I hope you like it and that it works for you.

Good luck!

ATT is in apples back pocket, and it does a lot of kissing while it's back there. EVERY other phone they offer is an afterthought and it's obvious.

I mean for Goodness sake they didn't even have the Moto X out, but they have over 1/4 of the store devoted to apple products, including year old phones.

I'll go take a look and see how it feels.... really, I just want a phone that I can work with one hand ( don't get the wrong idea.... I have two ) but it would bug me to have to use two hands to use a phone <g>

The other thing is I have 5 lines ( ATT 2 of them have unlimited data ) and two are up for renew and I really don't need an unlocked phone..but that may be the way I have to go.... wouldn't make me happy...but having a phone I'm happy with is the bottom line. If Moto had an unlocked version with 64g it would already have been ordered <g>.

I have big hands (yea that's what they all say) not like monstrously, freakishly huge but big. It pushes the boundaries of one hand use to the limit, I think it's right there, but definitely teetering on the edge of too big to one hand.

Now I HATE Samsung products, I mean I despise them (don't get me started) I only mention this as I share your desire for more diminutive handsets, that and my wife has the new galaxy tab 10 or whatever, it's a nice product and gives me pause to reconsider my detest for them. Also in store today is the Samsung Galaxy Alpha.

"AT&T's version of the Alpha comes with a 4.7-inch HD Super AMOLED display, a 2.5GHz quad-core processor and 32GB of onboard storage. The screen offers a 1,280x720-pixel resolution, which sounds like an underachiever compared with the 1,920x1,080-pixel resolution found on the Galaxy S5. The phone doesn't include a microSD card slot, so you're out of luck and out of space if you fill up the 32GB of storage."

Not a super screen, but a nice phone, and easily the best I have seen from Samsung with regard to how it feels in the hand. (Samsung's first with an aluminum frame)

Just a thought....
Ugh I feel a little queezy after saying all that....ick

Well I went to take a look and Omg that phone is amazing. Down side still can't get it .. Only way is for me to add a line if I want the 32 so I just have to wait even longer. Guess I will check back next week .

vicshalls,

How did it feel for one hand ops? And can you order the 32 in-store or do you have to go on line?

One hand. Not really. It is about as big as the htc one m7. Maybe a little shorter. If you are doing the 199 or paying out right you have to do it on line. If you are like me and want to do next then you have to wait. That really pissed me off too. The system just says coming soon. I can only upgrade with next and I can't afford 5 something oop.

Ok, so guess what... ATT is not going to carry a 32g unit with a black front... now how crazy is this???

Can someone tell me if there are ( if any ) advantages are to an unlocked phone? I can get exactly what I want ( well 32g is not 64 but whatever ) direct from moto ( unlocked )

They won't have it in the store but they will have the option to get one with the pin on Moto maker. A person at the store showed me where it is coming soon. So here I sit waiting cause it is the only way I can do this since I have to up grade with next.

Nope, won't work.... if you go on moto maker and select the black front, you then won't be able to select 32g. If you think I'm crazy, give it a shot. I'd love to be wrong here <g> ( If you select 32g first then the black front, you won't see that it doesn't work till you go to check out.

Oh then weird you can't do the black front. I am still waiting for the card. Next is the only way I can upgraded. Have not been with att long enough for the regular upgrade for 199.

Yea for sure... I may end up holding on the the old trusty Atrix and keeping it alive till ATT gets their act together.
