Root 720p camcorder, anyone getting good results?

i'm running mikg 3.0 w/ anthrax kernel.

the camcorder has the option to record in 720p but it sucks really bad; completely unusable, choppy video and audio is way, WAY out of synch...

the best results i get are at 800x480 w/ mp4 file format and i'll still get an occasional (still semi-acceptable by my standards) skip in the video.

i also want to point out that the audio is 1,000,000X better than stock, so thank you very much to whoever fixed that!!!! :D

note that my sd card is getting a rite speed of 4.7mbs (class 4 i think?) (tested with 'sd tools' available in the market), not sure if that might be the bottleneck or if it's some other hardware/software issue?

so, basically i wanted to know what everyone else is experiencing and how their camcorders are configured... or if they're getting any better results with a different rom?
 
My camcorder is borked, but that's a common bug on the Rom I'm running.
MikG 3.0 should give you great camcorder results. Kinda confused on this one.
Maybe the kernel is giving you issues.
 
^i made a nandroid before i flashed the kernel, if i load that nandroid will it restore the old kernel? if so, i'll give it a test.

no worries. that is a good question actually. no you do not need to wipe if you are doing a restore of your nandroid backup. but it does not hurt to one either. but when you restore a nandroid backup your phone will format the caches anyways.
 
I has pauses in the 720 p mode on the stock sd card where the videos are stored. This went away when i upgraded to a class 10. Its still not perfect but almost un noticable. I also think what is running in the background could affect this also IE radios serching for signal and gps and so on.
 
so i tested it with the original kernel that came with mikg and it's actually recording worse... coincidence? i don't know :confused:

Hmmm, thats weird.:confused:

Have you tried the wipe caches, etc?

If so and it's not working still, wipe your cache partition and dalvik cache and reflash the rom. It'll preserve your data this way.;)

The 720p camcorder should be working for MikG
 
^ just gave that a try but nothing changed :(.


pretty anxious to hear from some other people running mikg3.0...


on another note; i read that any card over class 4 was a waste because the phone can only write 4mbs anyways. i can't remember where i read that, but is there any truth to it?
