801 vs 805

In a weird way, i'm glad it doesn't have significantly better battery. That would make me a little jealous. As it is, my 801 performs snapily for how I use it.

I wonder what magic Samsung is using to keep such good battery life on the 805 S5.

Apparently the display is second gen Qhd that uses same battery as current 1080p samoled displays.

As far as I know, there's not even confirmation it's coming to the US (in G3 form, the 805 is coming eventually). Either get the G3, or wait for the G4.
 
Don't think too hard about the 801 versus 805. If the G3 looks good to you, the 805 isn't going to be a significant change regardless of what you hear. The 801 is a step up from the 800. The 805 is a step up from the 801. You may get a touch better graphics performance and a little extra responsiveness (opening and closing apps, etc.) but there are no "leaps" here. Next year will probably be the year of the 805 like this was the year of the 801. The 810 is the next evolution for Qualcomm...And will be right in time for my next upgrade :D

But it would be nice to finally have a processor that can actually run this phone LMAO!
 
The initial tests show the G3 805 to perform better, but only with Qhd content. Same battery life though as the 801 version since same resource hungry display.

Samsung has new display tech on their S5 Qhd and apparently the Note 4 as well. No doubt LG will release a device with more efficient tech as well- at some point.
 
If you have at& t you can't unlock the phone in less you call at& t and get them to give you a code. My husband unlocks phones and at& t has a boot lock on the boot loader, not sure when they will release it either. Trust me we have tired everything. If any has any info on how they did theirs please share. Thanks.

I think you're confusing two kinds of unlock. Bootloader unlock is completely different than SIM unlock.

AT&T will unlock the SIM (or give you a code to do it), so you can use the phone on international carriers, or if you've finished your commitment. They won't unlock the bootloader no matter how nicely you ask them. Neither will Verizon or Sprint. The T-Mobile version comes with an unlocked bootloader (but you'll still need to ask them to unlock the SIM if you're going overseas).

But you don't need to unlock the bootloader to root the phone, if that's the goal. Google Stump Root, Purple Drake, and TowelRoot
