i don't know. it's hard to say.....i can see people singing "Poker Face" in 50 years. it's a catchy tune....LOLBut, 50 years from now, can you see people--old AND young--singing her songs by heart, and commemorating some thing she did?
plus she was amazing in a "A Star is Born".
i think she will make the rock n roll hall of fame in 50 years time.....for sure.
now the Beatles are on a whole different level. you just do not see talent like that. it's hard to compare anybody else to those guys. there is only a select few who are on their level.....i do get what you are saying, though
but this thread is about the 80's and it's music. for me they had the most impact into my life. during high school my favorite movies were the John Hughes movies and their soundtracks. It was at this time that I discovered punk, post punk (goth music), new wave, reggae, ska, and even some pop.
