8gb storage

How much room would you have to really use on the 8gb. Im looking to get two for me and the wife for x-mas. (if there available by then) Im just worried about the hand full of apps I install, along with pictures. Then would there still be room for future updates. Im not a gamer or do the movie downloads.

Just a guess but around 5. something or maybe 6

i have 3.9 gb left after i installed my apps and a few photos. i might need more, or i'll have to be more diligent about downloading photos and videos.
