Root 985hPaKicK 2nd init recovery

I used opera. Wow. In backed up I so excite. In a borat voice. Time to get drink to you and wait for a throm.

pretty much

no adb access from recovery

no UMS from recovery

Im seeing adb access, shows up as:
blahblah recovery

Thank god i can also push files also, as i wiped my data before i figured out where the backups were saving to...(internal). Made a quick copy of the backup to my computer before and pushed it through adb to backup....

Can someone upload their backup from some other phone model? What's the worse that can happen, I have to restore firmware... again?

ermmm... DON'T flash from within the 2nd-init recovery. I think I just perma-bricked :(

EDIT:
Any ideas on recovery? Please?

All bad bro...

Ya, I'm sad now :( no way to restore my just-finished nandroid backup? Somehow access memory from my computer? What I don't understand is that I've done worse to this phone software-wise, and it was fine. (installed another phones boot, aboot, and recovery partitions in place of my own - i just had to restore firmware, but can't even get to e-mode now :( )

EDIT:
No adb until boot completed

Try booting with various buttons pressed like Vol Up or Vol Down. YES this is a shot in the dark...

1) Pull out the battery (to ensure that the really phone is turned off)

2) Reinsert the battery.

3) Without pressing the power button, simultaneously hold down both sides of the volume rocker (volume + and -)

4) Plug the USB cable into the computer USB port

5) Plug the USB cable into the phone's USB port

If you see the familiar yellow triangle, or the weird Gingerbread "firmware upgrade fail try using recovery mode", you're now in download mode.

Done, nada. Tried emode combination and firmware restore even though no display, but nothing. Broke key identifiers maybe?

Well I am just googling ideas. I am we-todd-did when it comes to actual problem solving. You may be phucked. Sorry man.

Installed this apk, made a backup, copied over the first version of the actual CWM I found to my sd, flashed, rebooted

the first version of CWM ?

I do not understand, there is no other CWM for this phone.

In order to flash something it has to be a flashable zip file

who made a flashable zip file ?

what does the install script look like in the flashable zipfile ?

All of that is device specific. Lol totally terminated I wouldn't recommend any ways to get a new one..

THAT SUCKS BRO. XD

Just learn for next time. Don't flash another phones aboot, boot, recovery, or rom., ... Or kernel and don't flash from rom manager or rom toolbox

Yeah dude you're totally hard bricked. X. X

I don't know, just searched something along the lines of cwm flash zip (this was about a month ago that I downloaded it). I attached it, of course I changed the name after I downloaded it.
Also, can someone post pictures of all the steps to restore from our recovery? Also, volume down + power to get into it, correct? Going to attempt it blind, just in case.

Also, the reason I flashed it was because I didn't think the apk was permanent, thought it was temporary, andit was the only thing I had to test a flash.

I wonder if you go to Metro and are honest if they will swap it out. And of course, by honest I mean tell them the Mayans ate your firmware.

Yeah so I did the same thing you did, just to see what would happen. Now I am permabricked too. Can someone else try it? Maybe it was just us?
