Root 985hPaKicK 2nd init recovery

For Nooks, it seems that the bootloader is written to boot SD first. It doesn't take any special key combos, software tricks, or mods. If it finds bootable files on the SD, it boots them, just like a bootdisk in a PC.

I'd be happy to poke around the Nook if any devs think it might be helpful. I'm kinda doubting it, though; but just in case...

yeah i asked eyeballer, leapinlar and the whole nookie devs team...just to make sure..

I also have a NC, you running PA or CM10?...

Good catch, I never would have noticed. Can someone try and add that to the main post for informational reasons? Maybe a mod considering the poster is now banned

Been flip-flopping between CM10 and good ol' CM7. I'm not using the Nook much anymore since it feels like a slug after using the motion. The screen is beautiful, but with no hardware power to back it up, it just isn't fun to use anymore. :( Or maybe I've just burned mine out by overclocking/volting... hehehehe

I'm about to flash CM10 back on it so I can pull the latest GNow files.

Does anybody have any clue where cretinoid found this int recovery and the cm10 build? I cant seem to find a thread on it anywhere..... it must be posted on some forum somewhere..... I need to read on some it badly.

Success. Thank you very much. I hate when small steps are left out! I know it is miniscule but I like to see everything step by step exactly as it is done. This is the only phone I've got!

I installed this apk and it shows up in my app drawer. I open it, press 2nd-init button and all I get is a popup button that says "success".

So what am I missing???

That bootloader works on our phone (according to zeest) but it's locked. And that recovery is 2nd init, just like we have.

I was not referring to the boot loader, I was talking about the newer version of the apk, according to that post it is newer, I was wondering if anyone had tried it on the Motion and what the difference was

So, installed, hit "2nd-init Recovery" received "Failure: Error running exec(). Command: [su, -c, . /data/data/com. eclipse.android.razr.bootstrap/files/surunner.sh] Working Directory: null Environment: null"

So, what went wrong?

Firmware version F, rooted using o4xr, CWM installed.

Trying to create recovery so I can install Collab v.3.0.1 ROM.

Disregard. Was able to get it working.

Had missed some steps..

Screw it. Brb with results

(Edit) works with no issue, no noticable change in presentation or access. :3 same app with a slight name change essentially.
