Hoping someone can help as im stumped now.

Download a custom ROM and having some issues.

1. Even after a full wipe, I find that most of the internal files havent been deleted. Even music that I had on the phone from ages ago. So now when going to the marketplace to download all my apps again, I get told ive got no memory left  - Why is a full wipe not working for me?

2. The ROM doesnt have an XEU CSC, so I have downloaded one and flashed through ODIN. However if I now type... *#272*Device IMEI# I still cant choose XEU from the list. What am I missing?

A wipe only clears the device memory. Anything in USB Storage or external SD card is untouched. If you want a "clean slate" you'll either have to delete files manually or format the volume from Settings/Storage.

I can't help with that I'm afraid.

Cheers for the reply. So if I remove the external SD, and then go to storage settings, can I do a "clean" format?

Seems like a "full wipe" should wipe more than it does to stop files coming over from older firmwares :o

Assuming you mean format USB Storage, yes.

No firmware-related files are located anywhere other than device memory, and all are overwritten during the update. The full wipe removes any user data (such as config settings, contacts/SMS/email databases etc) that might conflict with the updated OS. The internal and external SD storage volumes are deliberately unaffected so that you can leave music, photos etc there.

The problem is that ive noticed when deleting apps, that sometimes old files are left behind. After a while its easy to forget what wasnt there as standard, and end up not knowing what you can and cant delete.

As for pics, music etc etc.... You should put those on your external SD card :p
