A N D R O I D - F O R U M S : Owner And Administrators Appreciation (Feb 21-28)

I want to thank one and all for this amazing forum! I would also, like to thank all the staff here who keep this forum clean and user friendly. I also want to thank them for welcoming me here and showing me that this is more than just a forum, it's a community for all of us to come together and speak of android and anything else. I love this site and I am glad I joined! All I have left to say is...

I'm not sure, but I think it may have been the "Let's count to 100,000" game that persuaded Phases (and/or Rob) to disconnect the post count cog from the whole Forum Games area. ;)

And now we have "Let's make this the longest thread in the Universe" game. :rolleyes:

Not exactly stuff that would legitimize having a post count for each user in the first place I guess (although I disagree with that disconnection there in Forum Games because when people post a lot anywhere here at Android Forums they are running up the numbers that attract ad revenue, whether they see the ads or not ;)).

And YES the rest of the year is MEMBER appreciation that includes all of us....oh, and you too, Yeahha...(said resentfully, with head down, kicking a can as I walk to and from skool in the snow, uphill, both ways)

If FG posts did count there would be quite a few of us who's post counts would be much much higher ;)

Well Rico everyone likes member appreciation time as everyone from Rob down to the guy who just joined and posted his intro post are members here! And without members AF would not be anywhere near the great place that it is :D
 
Well, if they changed it to count posts, you'd never be able to get rid of Steven58 in there. :D ;)

There were a lot of members that ONLY posted in the Game Forum and only a little bit outside of it. But they kind of use their posting numbers as a seniority badge. It wasn't fair to members that were actually contributing to the forums. New members can rack up hundred of posts in a day in the Game Forums.

I was just saying that you commented on a lot of posts for his short time here, and I was saying that he has posted even more than that. :eek:

Personally, I don't care if Forum Games count. They can be fun which is why they are there. :) I can completely understand why it is the way it is.

I feel that posting in Forum Games is just another kind of contribution to Android Forums, not "no contribution," thus should be counted.

The member's post count in there does not go up, but the site's post and "active member" count does go up, earning more $$$ for the site.

After all, the Lounge and Forum Games sub-forum would not be here and quite active if they were not bringing in members to join up and to post post post and then post some more.

I prefer contributing to the forums, then racking up posts in Ban the person above you or Last post wins.
Edit: Which I am kinda guilty for.

But that ban game is so.... frustrating.. they show up again and often right there in the same thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol.. :D
