What is the difference between LG Motion and the LG Spirit?

Are the phones the same in hardware and software versions?

I'm sure this has been thought of by now but just wanna ask for my curiosity.

Has anybody tried to use whatever means that was used to unlock the bootloader on the spirit for the motion?

They are not the same. Similar hardware, yes, but not the same.

Stock, they share the same version of android, and both sport a locked bootloader.

I am sure both the motion and spirit use loki.

I have read on other forums that the bootloader for the spirit is unlocked...I have this friend that has one and he has full access to his recovery though cwm... i think lol

yes he has full access to cwm..no 2nd init or f aboot...cwm he uses

ok he might not know what he has or is using so scratch that...

spirit uses loki recovery but the recovery works and doesn't wipe /data like the motion does.
