Help A1023 Custom ROM?

Just wondering if anyone has been able to put a custom ROM on an Azpen A1023. Love the tablet and want to see if it's possible to do a custom install.

Hi Dave, I'm new to the whole android thing, I just got my first android device AZPEN A1023. But I'm not happy with not being able to save my files to my SD card. Now I understand that I must root the device. But being new to "this world" I don't want to make mistakes. I do understand there is some risk in rooting.

I just want to know if you have any more infomation on "how to". I see you have walked the route that I must walk now.

Thanks Hendri

Welcome to our AndroidForums, Hendri :).

Hopefully Dave will reply back with some of his experiences.

You should certainly be careful with regard to removing bloatware via any root powers without being able to restore your device from a Nandroid backup or factory image. Removing the wrong thing could leave you with a bootloop or otherwise soft-bricked device.

Here's a general thread that might be helpful to you: Rooting Best Practices

Cheers and best of luck!

I have succesfully rooted my device. I had 1 problem, somewhere I got the modelnumber A1023 in my head, while my device is actually an A1043. Luckily the intelligent software Kingo root sorted that problem. Thanks to all.
