Help absolutely dead

Shenthing

Lurker
So I have searched all over for a while now and I am not sure as to the problem with my phone.
It should have a charge as it was fairly charged the last time I used it. Phone was plugged into my USB port and when into standby. Tried to wake it up and nothing, when I went to the safely remove icon in Windows, it did not show the phone connected.
Since then, I cannot charge it. Every charger, whether my car or wall, will not give me the amber charging light, just a faint flicker of a red indicator that I have never seen until now for about 5 seconds.
Furthermore, it will not boot, even a hard reset boot. I have tried pulling the battery and no help.
Is there something I am missing or am I going to have to take it in for service?

did you happen to drop it in water?

Nope, no water or trauma involved, it just quit. Plugged it into my wall charger overnight with no indication of it charging, when I plugged it into my car charger this morning it looked like it was charging, but stopped after a few minutes and went back to the same behavior as before. Plugged it back up in the car on my way home from work, amd finally got a charge and boot.
Still gonna take it to best buy and see what they have to say, sounds like a battery issue though.

My daughters evo started doing this today as well. Guess she will have to take hers in as well. She is afraid she will end up getting a refub unit. She has only had her evo since the end of November. Its a shame, you pay for a new evo and 2 months later you have to pay another $100 for a used evo.

I came across your posts as I was searching for a solution to my own problem. Same symptoms and just started about 10 mins ago.

I am fairly certain the$ 100 deductible would not aplly in this situation. If one had sprint or best buy insurance they would handle it that way. If not they could take it to a Sprint repair center and pay the$ 35 fee or send it to HTC for warranty repair.

It has always been my understanding that the deductible is going to apply in situations like dropping the phone in water, losing the phone, user fault etc but yrmv

Well my daughter took her evo into a sprint repair center. They didnt run any test and gave her a new battery. We are pretty sure this is not going to solve the issue, but will wait and see. I have not been able to reach her...so I am pretty sure her phone is on the fritz again...arrrrr.

Unless there is damage, there shouldn't be a $100 fee.
