ACER Transform Tablet - Going to .mobi sites?

SURFThru

Lurker
I was testing out the ACER Transform at BestBuy.

I noticed that any site I went to CNN, Yahoo, others the sites always redirected to the mobile version of the site.

I do not get it, is that a bug in how the ACER is configured? Or a setting an Android 3.0?

I have a SuperPad 2 and it never gets redirected to a .mobie or a ml.site.com site.

Asus makes the transformer and Acer makes the Iconia A500, but regardless of which one you were using they are all the same. Its not a bug its just the way the software is set up. You can fix it with using a different browser like Dolphin which I prefer or adjust it in debug mode.

If you buy it, search search and you will find the answer for debug settings. It's a very simple process.

They aren't all the same as far as the default browser. The ASUS browser is factory set to desktop by default and has a settings option to allow changing the browser type without using the "about:debug" settings.

Sorry, I stand corrected. I was under the impression that all honeycomb stock browsers were the same. Goodrich know though. I wonder if there's a way to get the transformer's browser ported to the a500?
