Root [ACS] Clockwork Mod Recovery for Transform Ultra

Hi guys,

Thank you for the one click root--worked great on the first try!

I purchased this phone with the hopes of using the Hotspot feature. I tried several apps in the market to enable it, but the result is just a dialog box that says "Hotspot is not supported". Also, I have noticed the Mobile Data automatically turns off if you have WiFi enabled.

I had assumed that rooting my phone would help, but now I'm realizing that was probably just the first step. Would I need to download a particular custom ROM in order to add the Hotspot functionality?

*Download Wireless Tether for ROOT users, Fox Fi, Barnacle, Clockworkmod Usb Tether, or countless of other apps available in the market. Really just depends on what your tethering, but most of the above will get the job done.* Custom Rom would not be neccessary unless you want drastic speed improvements and i mean come on you know you do lol.

Clockworkmod is meant to be installed on your computer, it is very similar to the way you install root. Unzip the zip on your comp and plug your phone into your computer and make sure usb debugging is on. Then run the batch file. (.Bat) from your computer.

i finally got cwmr to work three to four reboots then did a wipe to make way for prime rom. now its not working again whats going on . yes i've tried to reflashing it if anyone wants to know. i'm stuck with star rom .6 is there a better copy at a different link i can get i've loaded the one from here did not load right went to a 2nd place and that worked after the phone had not been rebooted for a week last week after a month of trying or is there something i can have someone mod for me to work better.

Hi I'm not real sure what the problem is could you clarify? You wiped to make way for prime rom, did you have prime rom ready install at that moment? What's not working, cwm or star scrom? If cwm is it booting into cwm and not flashing for you or is it not booting into cwm? How are you trying to boot into cwm? ***Star scrom 6 has not been released could you clarify what version you are using?*** Edit: thats a lie, oopsies ;)*** Please post as much information as possible in as concise and clear a manner as possible for maximum helpability:-)
 
Seems my cwm has stopped working as well. Running prime rom ver 3.5, obviously it was working previously but has stopped loadin in the past week or so :-(

what do you mean not loading? like not booting into recovery?..unable to make backups? how are you booting into recovery?
 
i did a wipe before i finished downloading prime rom to fallow the steps the person said to do while i was waiting for it . when i went back after the download was done i couldn't boot into cwmr using the buttons. after i posted for help i tried again and i got cwmr to load and tried to do a recovery and it failed. am i going crazy or is this happening to more people .

oh i forgot i'm using star rom .6 for boost since that was the only way to mod the phone at the time . i was wanting to load cwmr but didn't have anyluck until last week. i also need a better guide to using it when it does work

I couldn't get into cwm via hardware keys. I found a work around for the interem with an app called quickboot but for some reason hardware keys still don't bring it up during boot.

thats strange...i mean the widget is convienant but still nice to know you can manually boot into recovery if ya have too...have you tried to reinstall cwm
 
i have the same problem that i cant backup, restore and anything, i tried reinstalling it and it still doesnt work. i dont know if i'm missing something or i'm doing something wrong
 
+1 man, good job stepping up.. Lots of people were having a prob understanding the process.
 
awesome vid from concepttheman, but i figured out what my problem was:
i had to partittion my sdcard which wiped it out and lost everything on it (thank god i thought smart and backed it up on my computer)
i was finally able to backup, restore and all that fun stuff.

i wonder if this will help anyone

It will create a second backup
 
I'm getting installation aborted when I try to flash a rom. I've tried both the Prime and star ones. I was able to do a backup though. I've downloaded and installed CWM twice but no change. Any ideas?

I also got that message it was a md5 mismatch because i messed with some of the rom files before i tried to flash (I think) :)

Question: I restored a backup and now I cant transfer files to my sd card with usb but the sdcard still works anyone know how to fix this? sorry for my bad spelling

Pull down your notification bar and select "usb file transfer" or something like that... it will bring you to a page that will allow you to turn it into a mass storage device which is neccesary to transfer stuff while plugged into the computer. Is that it or will it not transfer despite doing that?
