Root Activate when rooted

I just sold my og droid. It is rooted, and the purchaser can't activate it. Does it need to be unrooted?

If so, is there a way he can do it with out hooking up to a computer?

If you have ROM manager on there, yes, he can revert to a stock image directly from in ROM manager.

well i wiped data before i gave it to him. so no ROM manager. can he do it through clockwork recovery?

he has MIUI installed.

other options?

you dont need to be unrooted to activate. Make sure that the phone is off of your account and not activated on any other account that would cause an issue. Ive activated different rooted droids on many different devices and no issues.

Id recomend having them try dialing *228>choose option 3(not mentioned in voice prompt)>input phone number wanted to be activated on>last 4 of account holders social or password on account> and thats all.
