Help Activation without SIM (UICC) card

Hello I bought this LG Motion off of eBay without the SIM/UICC card. I thought I did enough research were the card was only for 4g LTE.
I cannot activate my phone.
I put the IMEI number into MetroPCS website and it accepted it then told me to call *228. The phone says cannot make a call without SIM card.
I tried turning off ICC Activation Setting, still no luck.
I tried changing to CDMA/EvDO network mode, however it keeps defaulting back to CDMA+LTE/EvDo.

Any ideas?
 
You have to have a Sim card to activate and that card has to agree with the number for your phone in the Metro system or be a new number they've put in there For you.

First, find out if your IMEI # is clean or not. There is an App for that if you can find a working phone. Assuming it is, last I hard was they charged $15 for the new Sim card. Were it me, I'd go to a Corporate Store for that unless I was buds with an Authorized Dealer.

Start saying your prayers it's not a hot phone.

I went into ##626* and Service Prg. Edit the MDN and MIN to my 10 digit phone number.
I found an option in ##LGSERVICEMENU near the bottom that says "network lock" I turned that off it instantly rebooted.
Not sure if ICC Activation Setting off setting affected it.
But works great! (without 4g, of course)

You should be able to get another UICC card from a metroPCS store. They are not locked to the device as it was with the Esteem. You can use any MetroPCS UICC card for 4G. Just have to pay for a card. I have no idea how much they cost though.
 
Hi there.. I have this same problem. If I figure out how to do that programming fix and get 3G for now, will it be simple enough to get 4G when I do get a UICC card. All the dealers local to me say I can only get the card from a corporate store, which is quite a drive. I want to be able to use the phone now though!

Could explain the above in more detail? I'm trying to get an LG esteem activated for my aunt.

I need this!!!

**UPDATE Does all data work? MMS/SMS? All Calling features?
 
A while ago I tested what sammyz said. I took a co-workers card out of her phone and put it in mine. Had 4g instantly.

I finially obtained a card. From a friends old Motion when he upgraded.

It didn't work, yes the icon was gone about inserting a SIM card but only had eVdo (3g). Went on lunch and realized, the card isn't linked to any phone but still has to be in MetroPCS system. I got on MetroPCS's chat and they told me the SIM number was invalid. They wouldn't tell me if the number didn't exist or that they wouldn't activate it. Closed the chat and realized they shut down my whole account! No calls or data!

Got back on the chat, they took about 7 mintues of researach (which is ok since I'm at work anyways) and they got my service back on. They asked if I had a SIM card, I gave them the same number as first go around. They told me to dial *228 and then everything worked with 4g! I didn't have to change any of the settings I changed months ago.

Just wanted to do a followup, hopefully this helps atleast one person!

Are you trying with or without the SIM/UICC card?
To get it activated you have to get the service code. One way is by going to http://www.whiterabbit.org/android/ and entering the phone's information.

Even without the 4g all data worked including SMS.
