Help ADB Driver

teeterbug

Newbie
What is the ADB driver? I am asking because my husband got a DX. We downloaded MyPhoneExplorer on his PC and phone. He's getting an error message saying cannot connect to the USB or something similar to that. We have the debugging enabled. The other "help" is to ensured the "Debug Interface Drivers (ADB Drivers) are installed. Is this something that has to be installed or is it already on the phone?

I have the software on my computer and I don't remember messing with the ADB. I have no issues with the connection.

Anyone provide insight?

This is the Motorola driver software that I use on my Windows 7 systems:

Motorola_Mobile_Drivers_4.7.1_MotoConnect_1.1.31.exe

It will install "MotoConnect 1.1.31" and "Motorola Mobile Drivers Installation 4.7.1" in the files listed in your Windows "Programs and Features" list (i.e., where you go to uninstall Windows programs).

After you install it, you'll see a little "M" icon in your system/program tray at the bottom right of your screen. Be sure to right-click on the icon and turn off the extremely annoying auto-launch of the VZW web page (I think it will happen automatically after first install).

There are probably newer or other drivers out there, but these are the ones that I still use.

Cheers!
