Root ADB Plus vm of windows 7

hey question right quik i have heard that ADB doesnt like and does not play nice with virtual machines like a vm of windows running on mac and i was wonderingif i can fix it or is just not gonna work end-o-story

Sure... Sell Mac on Craigslist. Buy Brand new PC at Microcenter. Take significant other out for a night on the town with the profit.

I dont think it is possible. If you really need windows and adb you could just install windows 7 in bootcamp.

I think Skip is right, I don't really think a VM is going to work for this purpose. I'd second the suggestion of running Boot Camp even if it's just to get your phone rooted.

i have acces to both ppc and intell and i have a fully activated (well hactivated ) copy of windows 7 running in virtual boz with all the required expansion packs so that usb will work

Virtual box's usb support sucks now that oracle took it over. i used to use it when sun was the developer. now oracle owns sun. and java sucks now too.

Lol, i wonder what the point was over oracle buying sun.... i know it wasn't a money issue on sun's part.... maybe they seen the billions of dollars and took the money and ran.

I'm running a linux host and a vmware 7.0 guest windows 7 and adb works from both environments.

Actually SUN was losing major amounts of money because of the economic downturn.

+1 on the VMWare. That's a solid vm program. I've used VMWare, Virtual Box, and Windows Virtual PC(not good) and VMWare is my favorite, closely followed by Virtual Box(free), and Windows Virtual PC in a distant third.
