Root Advice Needed on Rooting/ROM Installation

Can someone help me understand what I need to do next on rooting/putting a ROM on my phone? I'm getting tired head reading through all the different threads in this folder, as I don't know which ones are odl & outdated, and which ones to follow.

I followed the following link's directions, and my phone is now rooted. I've done a backup with Titanium Backup as well. Now I'm confused if I really need a different ROM or not, and what's the simplest, most bug free one? I'm not overly technical, but I'm getting frustrated with how slow this phone is, both with app & with the internet. Is there anything else I can do to get it working faster? Thanks!

So now you have a rooted 2.2.2. Flashing any of the roms for this phone will get rid of the bloatware and should speed up your system a bit.
I think all of the roms are cm7 except kelsos.
The cm7 roms put your phone at 2.3.

Each of them have slight differences just pick one and try it out.
Make sure always have a backup.

Look into a2sd and partitioning your SD.

But if you really get frustrated that easy take a few deep breaths first and remember it will probably not be the end of your searching through posts and reading

And rule #1, you must read, read and read some more, the more you read, the less likely you are to screw up. Follow each step after each other, but make sure you understand what you are doing...if you download ANY ROM or Recovery, only download ROMs/Recoveries with wifi on phone or computer (better with computer).
