Root advice on roms

Newbie
irecently rooted back in august. At first i used the MIKG v3.1. It was ok but i wasnt crazy about the strength of my data signal. i also didnt like the option of using the internet or maxathon browser everytime i entered something in google search. i generally chose to complete the action using internet but would have to press that option multiple times. i then switched to an energyrom. i love the look of it, my data signal is awesome but i cannot send a text over 160 characters.

so i am here seeking advice on the best rom. i hear mike roms are great and very stable. wondering if i should try again. any advice? gingerbread 2.3.5 hboot 2.18 sense 3.5 htc evo 4g

try http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/618281-list-utilities-apps-roms-kernels-og-evo.html. in it has the staff picks as well as a list of most of the current roms out. the staff picks are roms that are stable and very good. check them out.

also check out the second post. it has more info on roms and kernels.

can i run the Digitalkarma v7.77. i have sense 3.5 and ginger bread 2.3.5

sense 3.5 and gingerbread 2.3.5 are just software. you can change your software on your rooted phone. one of the main reasons why you rooted. so all the roms listed in the list you can flash to. it is up to you to give it a try or not.

i really do not like sense 3.5 very much. those roms are very big and take up a lot of space. it is recommended that you have your sd card partitioned so that you have at least some room for your apps. plus they seem to be slower as well.

which sense version do you recomend? hand how do i change? is the problem with not being able to send texts over 160 characters a common problem?

the only sense roms i like now are sense 3.0(i just love the carousel:D) but they can be pretty big. there are some pretty good sense 1.0 roms out. then there are roms that have no sense cooked in called aosp roms. those are smaller, faster, and give you better performance IMO.

if you try any of the staff picks that are in the list, you should be good to go.

as far as how to flash roms go here:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...-rooting-gingerbread-2-3-5-dummies-guide.html. in the second post it has tons of info including how to flash roms.

so if i flash a new rom i dont have to pick a rom that is sense 3.5 or gingerbread 2.3.5?

nope. they are just software. you can flash any rom that you like. you can even flash a froyo rom if you like (if you can find one) or ICS or JB. the choice is up to you.
